Back on Indiana Avenue: The Carroll DeCamp Recordings is a collection of previously-unissued recordings from jazz guitar legend Wes Montgomery captured live and in studio in his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana in the mid-to-late 1950s by renowned arranger/pianist Carroll DeCamp. The deluxe set includes an extensive booklet with rare photos, essays and interviews. This is the sixth official Resonance release of previously un-issued Wes Montgomery recordings and fills in an important early piece of the jazz great's story.

Limited 180 gram vinyl LP pressing. Smokin' at the Half Note is the second collaboration jazz album recorded by Wes Montgomery and the Wynton Kelly Trio and released in 1965. It was recorded live in late June 1965 at the Half Note Club in New York City, and September 22, 1965 at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The album combines guitarist Montgomery with the Miles Davis rhythm section from 1959-1963 of Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. The album's versions of "Unit 7" and "Four on Six" have helped to establish these songs as jazz standards, and remain important references for their interpretation. This is also the second live album by Wes Montgomery.

Wes recorded this 1963 Riverside LP with the backing of B-3 master Melvin Rhyne and always-inspiring drummer Jimmy Cobb. The brilliant fretwork of the Trick Bag ; the funky Fried Pies ; the swinging the Breeze and I, and the gorgeous Days of Wine and Roses are here, as are three bonus alternate takes!

Pianist Anne-Marie McDermott's Mozart Piano Concerto cycle continues with Mozart's brilliant first original Piano Concerto, the D major Concerto, K. 175, composed at age 17. Volume 2 also presents two of Mozart's unquestionable masterpieces, the powerful concerto in D major, 451, and the ever-popular Concerto in B-flat major, K. 450. If she maintains this high a level of playing throughout the series, she might well be a first choice in this repertory. This is simply excellent Mozart artistry and thus highly recommended.

Little Brother Montgomery - Vicksburg Blues: The Singles & Albums Collection 1930-61 - It's a fascinating and substantial overview of two different phases of his career, and offers an entertaining showcase for his highly personal style. - Little Brother Montgomery was a blues, boogie-woogie and jazz pianist and singer, who was hugely versatile, working solo and with bands, and equally impressive across all the genres, with a highly distinctive style. Born in Louisiana near New Orleans, he was influenced by family friend Jelly Roll Morton, and over the years was associated with the Mississippi town of Vicksburg, which gave it's name to several of his song titles, and Chicago, where he later worked and made most of his records. This 72-track 3-CD collection comprises the A & B sides of just about all his releases on the Paramount, Melotone, Bluebird and Century labels from 1930-47, along with titles from the 1954 album "Windin' Ball Recordings" on Saydisk, the 1960 album "Tasty Blues on Bluesville and the 1961 album "Blues" on Folkways. It comprises many solo recordings, plus some with his jazz quintet, featuring trumpeter Lee Collins, and recordings with singers Irene Scruggs, Annie Turner and Creole George Guenson.
