This archive series is a tribute to legendary Swedish pianist Hans Leygraf (1920-2010). At the age of 9 he made his debut as a soloist with the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, at the age of 12 he gave his first piano recital. After the war he performed throughout Europe, including the Soviet Union, USA, and Far East. He had appearances with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, in London, Hamburg and Munich, with the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Orchestra under conductors like Blomstedt, Celebidache, Dohnanyi, Dorati, Ehrling, Fricsay, Gielen, Kempe, Sawallisch, Solti, and Szell. Volume 1 presents a live performance from 1970 of Brahms's monumental Piano Concerto in D minor Op. 15 with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stig Westerberg. This album also includes the late Seven Phantasies in Opus 116 in a studio recording from 1980. A must for all Brahms and Leygraf lovers!

Fredrik Sixten (b. 1962) is one of the leading Swedish composers of his generation. Over the years his eclectic and heartfelt compositional style has developed, deepened and taken on surprising, new and exciting elements. His choral writing has, however, always been at the heart of his compositional output. On this album, selected choral works are performed with singers handpicked by Ragnar Bohlin, who has appeared as guest conductor with orchestras and choirs worldwide, such as the Swedish Radio Choir, the BBC Singers, Eric Ericson Chamber Choir, Royal Philharmonic Choir, among many others. Bohlin was, not least, Chorus Director for the San Fransisco Symphony in 2007-2021. In San Fransisco he also founded, in 2014, the professional chamber choir Cappella SF. Sung in English, Swedish, and Latin.

Conductor Simon Crawford-Phillips leads the Västerås Sinfonietta on their new concept album; 'Scotland'. The principal work is Mendelssohn's famous 3rd Symphony; the 'Scottish'; coupled with two interesting contemporary works with strong bonds to Scotland: Helen Grime's "Elegiac Inflections"; and Peter Maxwell Davies' 'Strathclyde Concerto No. 10'.

Swedish organist-composer, Mats Hylander, started composing his great work, "The Counties of Sweden", during the covid pandemic, as a kind of greeting to and comfort for the Swedish people when many was in lockdown. In this organ suite, each one of Sweden's 25 counties has been honored with its own piece. At the pipe organ of the Church of Lomma in the south of Sweden, Hylander performs his own melodious, tonal music. Easy on the ear, it’s inspired by Mendelssohn, Bach and Chopin, but also influenced by traditional tunes and folk music, in the twilight zone between sacred and earthly.

Swedish award-winning percussionist Markus Leoson presents his own and other's arrangements for marimba of favourite composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Erik Satie and J. S. Bach, In addition, two of the Piazzolla pieces are arranged for vibraphone.
Markus Leoson was admitted at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm already at the age of 15, and graduated four years later in 1989. Since then he has performed nationally and internationally as both soloist and as orchestra musician. Besides his activity as a performing artist he is professor at Hochschulzentrum am Horn in Weimar, Germany.

The newly formed Zilliacus Quartet (Cecilia Zilliacus, violin I, Julia-Maria Kretz, violin II, Ylvali Zilliacus, viola, and Kati Raitinen, cello) now release an exclusive album with rare string quartets by Edvard Grieg, Amanda Maier, and Julius Röntgen. It's the first time Julius Röntgen's original manuscript of his completed version of Grieg's F major quartet has been recorded, including Röntgen's coda of the final movement. This CD with romantic string quartets of three close friends is a must for all string quartet lovers!

One of Sweden’s most prominent and active guitarists, Mårten Falk, now extends his vast discography with this first volume of “The History of the Russian Guitar” with music for 7-string guitar. Forgotten music by ”the first generations”: works by early 19th century composer von Held through Sychra, Vysotsky and Aksionov until late romantic Morkov are brought back to life on this melancholy album. Mårten Falk has toured Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Austria, England, Ukraine, Russia, Japan, Peru, Chile, Argentine, USA and Canada. Many composers have dedicated their guitar pieces to Mårten Falk and he has given more than 120 world premieres of music by composers from four continents.

This intimate recording presents the colorful spectrum of music from the golden age of the English lutenist songwriters, coupled with instrumental interludes and variations. Violin, viol and lute all join in with the singer in inspired playfulness, for a fresh take on this sublime music. The musical arrangements are based on improvisational practices of the Elizabethan time, and performed by some of Sweden’s foremost baroque musicians. Composers include John Dowland and his contemporaries, such as John Danyel and Thomas Campion.

The Nordic Chamber Orchestra, led by multiple award-winning conductors JoAnn Falletta and Patrik Ringborg, perform orchestral works by multiple award-winning Swedish composer, Andrea Tarrodi.

Tarrodi needs no further introduction in Sweden, and international audiences have also opened their hearts to her accessible, colorful music. In 2020, she was the first Swedish composer ever to receive a commission for the BBC’s renowned Last Night of the Proms.

Bengt Forsberg, one of Sweden's most outstanding pianists, renowned for many CDs and awards, releases now a sensational solo album with music of composers that most people have never heard of. Why? Because the composers were women, and often had to step back for the men. Their works, however, are brilliant and deserve indeed a better destiny than be covered by dust in the archives. Bengt Forsberg is one of Sweden's most outstanding pianists and his previous albums on dB Productions have been met with great critical acclaim. This time Swedish rising-star pianist David Huang has joined him in first recordings of romantic music for piano four hands by Julius Röntgen, Cécile Chaminade, Amanda Maier, Adolf Jensen and Jacob Adolf Hägg. They also present unforgettable performances of rarely recorded pieces by Reynaldo Hahn and Emmanuel Chabrier. Don't miss the astonishing interplay on this beautiful reference recording! David Huang is a frequent soloist with orchestras and at recitals in music festivals in and outside Scandinavia. Anna Petrini is one of Sweden's leading recorder players, and this is her debut solo album. On Crepuscolo, she performs contemporary works for the Paetzold contrebass recorder and electronics by Fausto Remotely, Malin B+�ng, Dominik Karski, Oscar Bianchi, and Mattias Peterson.

There are only world premiere recordings on this concluding Volume 3 of the wonderful music of Amanda Maier (1853-1894), including a recently re-discovered masterpiece: the piano trio in E flat! The previous two volumes of this remarkable, Swedish-German violinist and composer, married to composer Julius Röntgen, have been great successes. On this third volume, violinist Cecilia Zilliacus's and Bengt Forsberg's loving playing is backed up by cellist Kati Raitinen, second violinist Julia-Maria Kretz, and Johanna Persson, viola. Rising-star-pianist David Huang also appears in a four hand piece. Swedish violinist and composer Amanda Maier was the first female graduate in music direction from the Royal College of Stockholm. She performed concerts in Sweden and abroad, and began composing her first works, which she often premiered. With this album, her entire catalogue is now available.

This new release features even more world premiere recordings of the music of Amanda Maier (1853-1894). Amanda Maier was a Swedish-German composer, was married to fellow composer Julius Rontgen and was a close friend of Edvard Grieg, Johannes Brahms, and other great musicians of the time. The first volume of her music, released in 2016, was a huge success. On Volume 2, leading Swedish violinist Cecilia Zilliacus and pianist Bengt Forsberg perform Maier’s beautiful violin sonata, and Nine pieces for violin and piano. Soprano Sabina Bisholt makes her recording debut with her interpretation of Maier’s great songs. Eight of these seventeen tracks are world premiere recordings.
