2020 release. The 2020 Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert takes place on January 1, 2020 under the baton of Andris Nelsons for the first time. Released in anticipation of this historic event and as part of Beethoven 2020, Nelsons' recording with the Vienna Philharmonic of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 is released on a single CD for fans to enjoy.

Deutsche Grammophon is proud to release a stunning new recording of Beethoven piano sonatas by Maurizio Pollini. This final recording from 2014 brings a 40-year project to completion: He now presents studio recordings of all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas. The piano sonatas are central to Beethoven's oeuvre. As a composer and virtuoso pianist himself, he wrote works for the instrument from the beginning to the end of his career, so a cycle of the piano sonatas gives an almost unparalleled insight into his development as a composer and as a master of the instrument.

With this 2014 release, soprano Patricia Petibon makes a welcome return to French repertoire on disc, exploring the fascinating world of French art song. It features all-time favorites by Satie, Faur�, Poulenc, Reynaldo Hahn, Manuel Rosenthal, plus popular hits by L�o Ferr�. This selection takes the listener on an exciting journey of discovery: From the decadence of the cabarets of turn-of-the-century Paris to the melancholy of the 60s, from the eccentricity of the fin-de-si�cle to modern-day spleen. This original program is a collection of often humorous and eccentric songs with a deeper subtext. Petibon is joined on this occasion by her accompanist and partner of many years, the superb pianist Susan Manoff, and a number of high-profile guests stemming from diverse musical backgrounds and influences, including star violinist Nemanja Radulovic and actor Olivier Py.

Nine CD set. Wilhelm Kempff's landmark 1960 stereo recordings of Beethoven's complete piano sonatas, mastered at 24bit/96kHz in DTS-HD Master Audio, with CD Mastering taken from the HRA remastering to achieve a new and clearer sound. The impression made by Wilhelm Kempff's performances of Beethoven is that of an embodiment of Beethoven's remark that music must strike fire from the spirit of mankind. Kempff brought to the 32 Sonatas a sense of fantasy and improvisation.

Daniel Barenboim marks his new affiliation with Decca and Deutsche Grammophon with four releases - his first-ever recordings of the Chopin and Liszt Piano Concertos, and, with his inspiring West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, Tchaikovsky's exhilarating Path�tique and Schoenberg's Variations for Orchestra. The releases coincide with the 60th anniversary of Daniel Barenboim's performing debut. Two releases on Deutsche Grammophon will be devoted to Chopin: A solo recital recorded in Warsaw, with deeply-felt Waltzes, a Polonaise, a Fantasia, a Nocturne and the B flat minor Sonata, as well as Chopins two Concertos, accompanied by the Berlin Staatskapelle under Andris Nelsons, captured live at the Ruhr Piano Festival in July 2010. Barenboim and Boulez celebrate Liszt's 200th birthday with gripping readings of the Concertos no. 1 in E flat major and no. 2 in a major. A debut for both artists. In 1999, Daniel Barenboim founded the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra (WEDO) with the late literary critic, Edward Said. On this first of many projects to partner Barenboim with WEDO (all on Decca) are two blockbusters that WEDO will tour in May, when the album is released: Tchaikovsky's Path�tique and Schoenberg's Variations for Orchestra. WEDO performs this challenging repertoire to high international standards. The Independent opened it's rave review of a Barenboim-WEDO London evening by saying, "Simply sensational! WEDO scored a bull's-eye"
