The record also marked the intersection of some of the most longstanding, significant musical collaborators in the label's history: Arvo Part, Gidon Kremer and Keith Jarrett.

Estonian vocal ensemble Vox Clamantis and their leader Jaan-Eik Tulve have established themselves among the leading interpreters of Arvo Part's music over a quarter-century of close collaboration with the composer - a relationship that builds on the almost half a decade-long artistic partnership between Part and producer Manfred Eicher. 'And I heard a voice' was recorded in Haapsalu Cathedral, Estonia and is released as Arvo Part turns 90.

Andrew Cyrille Quartet -"The News" The new album from the quartet led by innovative jazz drummer, Andrew Cyrille, carries the story forward from the 2016 release, The Declaration of Musical Independence. Each of the players (Bill Frisell, Ben Street and David Virelles) has space for improvisational expression, but it is Cyrille's communicative sensibility and what the New York Times called his "watchful, flowing pulse" that guides the band.

The track "The Search" was used as the theme song for the beginning and end credits for the 1979 PBS educational series The Search for Solutions. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance in 1983. It is well known for containing the group's signature song, the jazz fusion ballad 'Are You Going With Me?' 2017 release. For his second ECM album Avishai Cohen presents a program which puts the focus on the ensemble, on teamwork, with a quartet of the highest caliber. The adroit, almost telepathic interplay among the musicians allows Cohen to soar, making it clear why he is one of the most talked-about jazz musicians on the contemporary scene. "These people together are my dream team", says the charismatic trumpeter of his fellow players, who share his sense for daring improvisation and his feeling for structure.

2019 live release. A solo concert from Keith Jarrett - recorded on the last night of a 2016 European tour at Munich's Philharmonie - finds the great improvising pianist at a peak of invention. Creating a spontaneous suite of forms in the moment with the assurance of a master builder - interspersing touches of lyricism between pieces of polyrhythmic and harmonic complexity - he delivers one of his very finest performances. The audience hangs on every note, every nuance, and is rewarded with tender, magical encores.

In 1999, a year after recording the splendid reunion album Not Two, Not One, Paul Bley's highly innovative trio with Gary Peacock and Paul Motian took to the road with concerts on both sides of the Atlantic. When Will The Blues Leave documents a terrific performance at the Aula Magna di Trevano in Switzerland. Included here, alongside the angular freebop Ornette Coleman title track, are Paul Bley's Mazatlan, brimming over with energy, Gary Peacock's evergreen Moor, Gershwin s tender 'I Loves You Porgy" and much more... All played with the subtlety of master improvisers, recasting the music in every moment.

Bordeaux Concert is a special document from Keith Jarrett's 2016 European tour. Each solo piano concert had it's own distinct character, and in Bordeaux, the lyrical impulse is brought to the fore. In this improvised suite, many quiet discoveries are made. There is a freshness to the music, a feeling of intimate communication. Reviewing the performance, the French press spoke of hints of the Koln concert in the flow of things, and the beguiling beauty of extended sections of the Bordeaux concert.

2014 2X vinyl LP pressing. Jarrett & Haden broaden the scope of their duo project to showcase jazz classics like Thelonious Monk's Round Midnight and Bud Powell's spritely Dance of the Infidels. Love songs, however, are to the fore in this selection, with tender versions of My Old Flame, My Ship, It Might As Well Be Spring, Everything Happens to Me, & Every Time We Say Goodbye as well as alternate takes of Where Can I Go Without You and Goodbye, every bit as touching as the Jasmine renditions. 'When we play together it's like two people singing', said Jarrett of his reunion with Haden. The intentions of the song are honored, the shades of meaning in a melody or a lyric explored instrumentally. As Charlie Haden put it, 'Keith really listens, and I listen'. That's the secret. It's about listening'. The music of Last Dance was recorded at Keith Jarrett's home studio.

Joe Lovano's 3rd album Trio Tapestry finds the group extending it's spacious and lyrical approach with deep listening and intense focus. Marilyn Crispell is the optimal pianist for this music, orchestrating it as it unfolds with a sensibility attuned to both contemporary chamber music and post-Coltrane improvising. Drummer Carmen Castaldi, a Lovano associate since teenage years, embellishes the music with his own poetic touch on cymbals and, like Joe, draws blossoming resonances from gongs.

Vinyl LP pressing. An ECM artist for his entire career, U.S. guitarist Ralph Towner has built a unique body of work in his recordings for the label. Central to his oeuvre are his solo albums, the first of which, Diary was issued 50 years ago. At First Light extends this great tradition, drawing inspiration from a broad palette of music. In addition to his own pieces, Towner also plays Hoagy Carmichael's "Little Old Lady," Jule Styne's "Make Someone Happy" and the traditional tune "Danny Boy."

Bley's career, which now spans seven decades, has continued to be a reference for successive generations of musicians. This is unsurprising, given that the Canadian pianist has worked with "more first-rate, wide-ranging, original musical minds than anyone but Miles," as DownBeat put it. Bley's work has influenced many of the pianists on ECM, as well as countless musicians in the wider world. One of the most influential recordings in the history of jazz piano, Paul Bley's solo album thoughtfully explores the compositions of Carla Bley and Annette Peacock.

Billy Hart Quartet - "Just" After twenty years of playing together, the Billy Hart Quartet - with Mark Turner, Ethan Iverson and Ben Street - is distinguished by it's stylistic openness. A drummer of enormous experience, who has played through many of jazz's idiomatic upheavals, Hart, now 83, advocates a 'multi-directional' sound approach, and his younger confr�res respond accordingly, each piece subtly opening another door. Wolfgang Muthspiel/Scott Colley/Brian Blade - "Tokyo". Wolfgang Muthspiel and his trio with Scott Colley on bass and Brian Blade on drums goes into it's third recording venture swinging, setting the stage for what may be the group's most adventurous trio recording. As has become custom, Wolfgang alternates between acoustic and electric guitars fluently and in equal measures, framing his soft touch and fluid lines in a program that seems to encompass the entirety of the broad idiomatic scope he has unraveled over the past decade
