Celebrating Francoise Hardy's indelible mark on the history of modern music. • Comprehensive collection of Francois Hardy's English-language studio recordings. Francoise Hardy's Vogue years have left a mark on the history of French and international music. Even today, the 5 years between 1962-67 remain an exceptional moment in her career, the ones when she exploded in the eyes of a generation that was born during or just after the World War II, the generation that would be part of the May 1968 Paris protests. Hardy exploded not only in France alongside her fellow "Yeyes," but also internationally, where she became the symbol of French elegance, talent and charm. The United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain-no one could resist Francoise, who recorded most of her hits in English, Italian, and German. In English collects her English-language studio recordings. All tracks have been fully remastered.

The Carus Classics series feature outstanding CD productions from Carus’ past library of recordings. This selection of Brahms’ sacred choral music shows a clear line of development from the early works, such as the songlike Ave Maria, to the later and progressively contrapuntal masterwork motets, clear evidence of the composer’s brilliance at motivic variation. The esteemed British conductor Roger Norrington leads the Schütz Choir of London.

Complete variations for cello and piano – 2 complete performances on modern and period instruments.

GRAMMY award winning pianist Lambert Orkis and Principal cellist for the National Symphony Orchestra, David Hardy, have delivered an entirely new way to hear this spectacular repertoire. This 4 disc set provides the listener with 2 completely different listening experiences for these pieces. First, the works are performed as they are most often heard in performance today, on a modern piano and the cello strung with steel strings. Next, the listener is transported into the time that the works were originally written with a second complete performance on 3 period correct forte pianos, and with the cello now strung with traditional gut strings.

The difference in tone colors is not the only contrast between the two interpretations of these Beethoven masterworks. Both performers, are each masters of modern and period performance practice, and they both adjust performance practice and interpretations in the two versions. That also contribute to the accompanying notes for the album.
