In August 2023, guitarist Elliott Sharp met with fellow guitarists Sally Gates and Tashi Dorji in his Manhattan recording studio. Ere Guitar celebrates the great art of the guitar, played by musicians who seek new paths and create the current sound of the day. "The line-up of the album Ere Guitar initially ties in with it's predecessor Err Guitar with Mary Halvorson and Marc Ribot (Intakt CD 281). Here, too, we meet a trio chosen by Elliott Sharp, whose focus is on spontaneous improvisation. Although the compositional element was greater on Err Guitar and reduced to a minimum on Ere Guitar, these two albums are in no way complementary. Together they recount the search for the unexpected, the unheard, for a formal and tonal complexity that develops from the encounter of three creative musicians", writes Harry Lachner in the liner notes.

Arthur Farwell has been called 'the most neglected composer in [American musical] history.' Hounded by accusations of 'cultural appropriation,' he has posthumously fallen prey to changing notions of cultural authenticity. As the leader of the 'Indianists' movement, Farwell believed it was a democratic obligation of Americans of European descent to try to understand the indigenous Americans they displaced and oppressed. To this end, he merged Indian music and lore with Western concert forms - today, a controversial practice. The performances here recorded originated at a landmark PostClassical Ensemble festival at Washington's National Cathedral. The Dakota String Quartet, resident quartet of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra (SDSO), comprises principal string players of the orchestra. First violin Doosook Kim has been concertmaster with the SDSO since 1995 and performs as a soloist and chamber musician in the US and internationally.

Saadet Turkoz's influences spread far and wide. Born in 1961, the singer grew up on the Bosporus where Europe and Asia meet. Her ancestors were nomads who migrated from Semey in Kazakhstan to East Turkestan from where they fled via India and Pakistan to Istanbul. But Istanbul, international city, modern metropolis and history-laden cultural crucible, is not the only place to have influenced her. In her singing she originally drew on the folklore of her culture, carefully collecting it's traditional songs via oral history, but soon opened herself up to other styles. She was influenced by the musical traditions of India, the Arab world and Central Asia and later came to blues and ever freer jazz. However, new music became increasingly important to her and she began to feel at home and understood in Zurich's eclectic free music scene. Turkoz recorded her album "Kumuska" with the American composer and multi-instrumentalist Elliott Sharp (b. 1951), the great artist of the world of electric, metallic, raw sounds as well as complex and groovy rhythms. By now they are trusted partners, having known each other since the 1990's and first recorded together on the album Marmara Sea. Jazz critic Manfred Papst writes in the liner notes: "Saadet Turkoz is a charismatic shaman certainly, but not the pompous kind. She has a sense of humour, and even when her head is in the clouds, her feet are on the ground. The words and sounds illuminate daily life. "

Wagner’s Siegfried is the third opera in the cycle that makes up Der Ring des Nibelungen. It premiered during the first complete performance of the cycle in August 1876 at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus. Rene Kollo performs in one of his greatest recorded performances in the title role of Siegfried. German conductor Marek Janowski is a brilliant interpreter of Wagner, having conducted the first digitally recorded Ring cycle between 1980 and 1983.
