OUTLANDER: SEASON 8 (ORIGINAL TELEVISION SOUNDTRACK) features original music by Emmy®- and BAFTA®-winning composer Bear McCreary for the final season of the critically acclaimed series. McCreary has shaped the emotional core of Outlander with his signature blend of Celtic instrumentation, sweeping orchestral themes and inventive musical storytelling. Included within the series' musical blueprint is it's main title theme, "The Skye Boat Song," which has evolved each season to reflect the show's shifting time periods and geographical locations. This tradition now continues into Season 8, with McCreary enlisting the talents of Annie Lennox to capture the gravity and poignancy of the story's final chapter.

Bear McCreary returns to compose music for the seventh season of Outlander where characters Jamie Fraser and Young Ian race to rescue Claire before she's tried and wrongfully convicted for the murder of Malva Christie. This season showcases a geopolitical firestorm: The American Revolution arriving to North Carolina. The second part of the series finds Claire, Jamie and Young Ian leaving the colonies and arriving in their beloved homeland of Scotland. The perils of the Revolutionary War force the Frasers to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home. The emotionally rich score includes songs influenced by Scottish folk music and colonial America. Romantic strings, anthemic percussion, delicate flutes, skillful bagpipes and fiddle rhythms are abundant on the soundtrack. Fans will also recognize musical melodies from previous seasons. Vocalists Sinead O'Connor and Griogair Labhruidh each have a track on the album.
