For her first album of original compositions, Daisy Jopling takes listeners on a musical oddyssey into the "Birth of the Universal Human." The culmination of her life's work, "Awakening" is a conceptual journey with each of its ten tracks highlighting a different musical style and influence, from African drumming to Irish folk music, with stops at rock, pop, jazz, funk, classical, Latin, reggae and gospel. "The CD begins in darkness and ends with moments of the greatest hope and joyfulness.
