This is the first recording of the German romantic composer Justus Hermann Wetzel (1879–1973) on the Genuin label. These compositions by Justus Hermann Wetzel are based on poems by Hesse, Goethe and Mörike, among others.

Viviane Chassot has previously released three solo albums, and now releases her first duo production alongside Martin Mallaun. This unique album contains rare chamber music in new arrangements for the special combination of accordion and zither. Not only are these arrangements original, but this program is varied and exciting, containing Renaissance pieces from John Dowland to the modern avant-garde work of John Cage.

Featuring the German Philharmonic Strings under the direction of Wolfgang Hentrich, this new release Young Spirit of Serenades features works by Bruch, Kilar, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. This is the orchestra’s 7th release on GENUIN. The album includes the world premiere recording of “Orawa” by Wojciech Kilar (1932-2013).

The young, sensitive Korean-Canadian pianist Jennifer Lim can already boast of an impressive career and is much in demand at present. For her debut Genuin label CD she offers a three-sonata all-Mozart program, at once the simplest and hardest of programs one can attempt. The Financial Times Germany praised Ms. Lim’s “stupendous finger technique in breakneck passages, and… deeply penetrating, slow movement substance”, while Bavarian Radio said of Ms. Lim that she is “the only young artist who can play Chopin... with the greats such as Argerich, Pogorelich, Michelangeli and Kapell.”

There are original Balkan beats by Marko Tajcevic, nobles et sentimentales from France by Maurice Ravel as well as unworldly romantic frenzy by Robert Schumann. Mirjana Rajic, the young, internationally award-winning and celebrated pianist based in Dresden, pours her heart and soul into this release - and at an extremely high pianistic level! Born in Belgrade, Mirjana Rajic studied under legendary pianist Lazar Berman in Weimar and in Imola, Italy, in Belgrade under Srdjan Grbic and in Munich under Bianca Bodalia. She completed her piano performance degree with distinction in Dresden with Windfried Apel. She has also attended master classes with Andrew Ball, Aldo Ciccolini, Michel Dalberto, Rudolf Kehrer and Amadeus Webersinke. She is in great demand as a juror for international competitions and is herself the initiator and artistic director of the International Carl Maria von Weber Piano Competition in Dresden.

Two prizewinners of the German Music Competition, violinist Byol Kang and pianist Boris Kusnezow, following their successful debut on the Primavera Edition, present their second GENUIN CD, a release featuring works by Brahms, Clara Schumann and Grieg in the form of sonatas, romances and song without word transcriptions. Ms. Kang and Mr. Kusnezow formed their duo in 2009. Of their 2011 NYC recital debut, the New York Times cited Ms. Kang for her “lovely, penetrating tone, Mr. Kusnezow for his “sensitive, finely hued approach” and the duo for their “intense musicality”.

On their new GENUIN CD, violinist Igor Malinovsky and pianist Itamar Golan present two of the wildest violin sonatas of the 20th c., namely Prokofiev's First Violin Sonata in F minor and the Sonata by Shostakovich. Igor Malinovsky has not only pursued a career as an orchestral instrumentalist and soloist, but can also look back on an active career as a teacher in Dresden and Barcelona. Born in Vilnius, Itamar Golan performs with renowned soloists and ensembles throughout the world, and has established himself as an exceptional chamber musician, on which he concentrates almost exclusively.

The internationally-renowned Stenzl Piano Duo presents this remarkable album, Brucken-Bridges. The programme is dedicated to composers who celebrate an anniversary of birth or death in 2016, including Kurtag, Busoni, Ligeti, and Reger. +The Stenzl Piano Duo has won a dozen international piano competitions across the globe, and they hole the world’s only piano duo professorship in Rostock.

More than 24 countries are represented in the European Brass Ensemble, which meets at the Melk Abbey in Austria. This new release is the ensemble’s first album with GENUIN, and features world premiere recordings. Renowned trumpeter James Morrison joins the ensemble. Morrison is highly sought-after for both his classical and jazz trumpeting skills.

Duo TschoppBovino, on their debut GENUIN CD, show us their versatility as Mirjan Tschopp successfully performs onboth violin and viola. Dmitri Shostakovich occupies a unique place in 20th century music. The duo has chosen his Sonata for Violin and Piano, Op. 134 and Sonata for Viola and Piano Op. 147. These two pieces were composed toward the end of the composer’s life, during his most mature compositional period.

A program of works by Stravinsky, Ravel, Liszt, Chasins, Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov and Lutoslawski Transcriptions for piano four hands, including world premiere recordings. Their Brahms piano duos debut disc was highly acclaimed.

From the humorous to the sublime: On it's third GENUIN-CD the magnificent Trio Ex Aequo offers a cross section of Beethoven's works for piano trio. From an early work to the mature Ghost Trio and the delightful variations based on the melody Ich bin der Schneider Kakadu. The timbral palette of the trio (Matthias Wollong - violin, Matthias Moosdorf - cello, a member of the Leipzig String Quartet and Olga Gollej - Piano) is large and meets the enormous demands of the three works in each moment. If one had to name a pupil of the great Johann Sebastian Bach, then it should be Johann Ludwig Krebs. Pianist Irinia Georgieva presents Ondine: Works by Robert Schumann and Maurice Ravel. Ms. Georgieva is a prizewinner of the Concours Maria Canal, and the first prizewinner of the International Kurt Leimer Piano Contest in Zurich. Sofia Gubaidulina writes that the pianist is characterized by her “wealth of tonal colors, singing cantilenas, musical power, depth of her artistic conception, and impeccable sense of form.”
