This new release of compositions by Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann is pianist Natalia Ehwald’s debut album. Natalia rises to the challenge of these two very contrasting works- Schubert’s reflective sonata in G major and Schumann’s vociferous Kreisleriana. She brings out both the forward expression in the pieces, and the moments of deep introspection. Natalia Ehwald has been praised by competition jurors and critics alike. She is the first prize winner and Menuhin Foundation special prize winner at the Robert Schumann Competition for young pianists in Zwickau.

Played with intensively close listening and feeling the inner essence of the music: this is how Japanese pianist Nami Ejiri approaches the late works of Schubert on her GENUIN debut CD. + Alongside the great Sonata in B-flat major, she plays the Four Impromptus, D. 899 and the more rarely played Allegretto in C minor, D. 915. + Winner of the prestigious Vianna da Motta Int’l Piano Competition, Lisbon, amongst other competition successes, Ms. Ejiri has been teaching piano at the Hochschule for Music in Frankfurt, Germany since 2006.

Finally, it is here: The continuation of the great musical adventure that the Camerata Musica Limburg is currently undertaking and for which we had to wait a whole year! The elite ensemble sings Franz Schubert's complete works for male choir with GENUIN. Three volumes have already been released. Once again, Jan Schumacher and his men will be joined by renowned musicians such as tenor Christoph Pr�gardien. The tonal palette of the clear and confidently intoned male voices ranges from the most gentle pleading of Gesangs der Geister to the vibrant radiance of a Schiller's Punschlied. The male vocal ensemble Camerata Musica Limburg was founded in 1999 and has since been under the direction of Jan Schumacher. For the members of the choir, the founding is a further development of the common musical roots that lie in the choir of the Limburg Domsingknaben. At the same time, the singers continue the unique tradition of the successful male chamber choirs of former Limburg Domsing boys in Germany.

The cellist Valentino Worlitzsch delivers a fiery debut in his Genuin album on the Primavera-Edition, the series that so meritoriously presents the award-winners of the German Music Competition. Why the young musician won the first prize in the 2016 competition and was a favorite of the audience is revealed in these wonderful recordings. Together with the excellent pianist Elisabeth Brauss, Worlitzsch plays multifaceted and spirited musical works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Britten and presents himself as a soloist with the truly electrifying solo sonata by Eugene Ysaye. With her enchanting, radiant flute sound, Barbara Kortmann takes us on on a journey through truly exquisite Baroque music on her GENUIN debut release. Joining with spirited partners from the early music scene, the multiple award-winning musician (Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments, 2016 International Sir James Galway Flute Festival...) awakens works by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Marin Marais, and other composers to their full potential. Passionately, flawlessly, and with total commitment, the musicians perform concertos and chamber music, original works and arrangements.

The third Genuin CD of the Saxon Wind Philharmonic will not only delight wind band lovers, but opera lovers as well featuring music from the operas of Paul Dukas, Georges Bizet, Jean Francais and Maurice Ravel.

17th and 18th c. musical Venice's legendary status was owed partly to the development and spread of the instrumental form known as the trio sonata. It's first great creator, the Italian Baroque composer Arcangelo Corelli, was followed by such distinguished figures and fellow countrymen as Tomaso Albinoni and Antonio Vivaldi, both of whose cheerful, playful and profound efforts in this area are heard on this Genuine CD played by the Camerata degli amici, under the direction of the oboist Jaime Gonz�lez, a widely recognized chamber, soloist and orchestral musician.

To his audience back then, Beethoven must have been radical, stormy, piercing - overwhelming! Even the smallest loudspeaker jumps to the Aris Quartet, grabbing the listener and not letting go – pretty amazing for an ensemble whose members’ combined age is not yet 100! The multiple prizewinners of the 2016 International ARD Competition are among the absolute shooting stars of the quartet scene and, with their GENUIN album, they show why: cutting edge middle and late Beethoven – definitely worth listening to! The Aris Quartett was founded in 2009 on the initiative of Hubert Buchberger, Professor of Chamber Music at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. At the time, Anna Katharina Wildermuth (violin), Noemi Zipperling (violin), Caspar Vinzens (viola), and Lukas Sieber (cello), were still high school students, but already studying their respective instruments as junior students at the music university. Begun as an experiment, this meeting between the four young musicians proved to be a genuine stroke of luck. Zipperling writes: “It was truly a wonderful accident that he chose us in particular. Otherwise it probably never would have occurrec to us to play chamber music in this combination, since at the time we didn’t know each other at all.” Eight years later, the Aris Quartett is one of the most striking quartets of the younger generation.
