- This Genuin CD release, featuring an all-star artist cast including trombonist Mike Svoboda, tenor voice Daniel Behle and saxophonist Marcus Weiss puts forward world premiere recordings of both intimate and large-scale chamber music works by the internationally award-winning composer Balz Tr�mpy. - Born in Basel, CH in 1946, Tr�mpy studied composition with Luciano Berio in Rome. - In addition to his having spent time at IRCAM in Paris, he has taught composition and music theory at Basel Conservatory since 1979, and from 1982-87 served as the Conservatory's deputy director.

The turn of the 20th century was once called the golden age of the flute. Here, Hans-Udo Heinzmann introduces three works from this period together with his piano partner Elisaveta Blumina on his fourth GENUIN CD. Debussy's famous” Afternoon of a Fawn" is supplemented by César Franck's Sonata in A major and the weighty, passionate and unjustly neglected Sonata by Joseph Jongen. Since 1970, Mr. Heinzmann has performed with orchestras in Augsburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg. Mr. Heinzmann is also greatly in demand as a soloist and chamber music partner.

John Finucane has been Principal Clarinet with Ireland's RTE National Symphony Orchestra since 1995, and has also been active as a soloist, chamber musician, and conductor in Ireland and abroad. Described by Gramophone Magazine as "an outstanding virtuoso" on the release of his album 'Clarinet Variations,' he has worked with the Ulysses Ensemble, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, and Irish Film Orchestras. He appears regularly on radio and television programs, and he has a particular affinity to chamber music, working with many groups across Europe.

There are not only well-known works of great Baroque composers, but also a "Suite imaginaire" composed in the spirit of the times with rarely performed works by Johann Martin Blochwitz, a friend of Johann Sebastian Bach. This production by the associate principal flute of the Gewandhaus cannot be praised enough: highest marks for repertoire and performance! Hungarian flutist Anna Garzuly-Wahlgren studied in Budapest, Munich and New York, completing her studies with highest honors.
