It is finally here- part three of the complete recordings of Schubert’s works for male chorus, a project which the fabulous Camerata Musica Limburg has embarked upon on the Geniun label. Once again, high-profile soloists such as Alison Browner and Christoph Pregardien are rushing in to support the men singing under the direction of Jan Schumacher. There is certainly no better way to weep than with the fantastic music of Schubert in the outstanding performances of this perfectly tuned ensemble. Twenty-two year old Japanese bassoonist, Rie Koyama is a sought-after soloist throughout Europe. In 2012 she won the renowned German Music Competition in Berlin, and together with Genuin, the German Music Council documents her artistic level. Koyama and the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim perform concertos by Mozart, Vivaldi, Jolivet and Genin so colorfully that one would think the inventor of the reed was performing these works.

The young Miao Huang, winner of the German Music Competition, shows on her GENUIN Primavera CD that her confidence is thoroughly justified. She masters the passionate urge and the time-suspended arabesques in Chopin's B-minor Sonata as well as the devilish leaps of Scarbo and the floating water games of Ondine.

Composed in 1824 during Schubert's final creative phase, the Rosamunde Quartet, D804 is music with two faces: happy and despondently sad, simple sounding yet full of endlessly differentiated detail, with a natural flow abruptly interrupted time and again. The three pieces on this Genuin CD cover his compositional beginnings to a period of self-discovery, all the way to those final years of consummate, mature mastery. The Klenke Quartet, all of whom are graduates of the Franz Liszt College of Music, Weimar, maintain a wide repertoire and tour internationally to much acclaim.
