Marty Haugen has joined with composer colleagues Fr. Michael Joncas and Tony Alonso to produce a new collection of 13 songs for worship. The music reflects a wide diversity of musical forms and styles, from the classical “Lauda Sion” (Joncas) to the beautiful “In the Arms of God” (Alonso) to the call-and-response “God Is Still Speaking” (Haugen). Psalm settings, communion songs, and songs for specific feasts (e.g., Ash Wednesday, Easter Vigil) with texts by Susan Briehl, Mary Louise Bringle, Delores Dufner OSB, John Fennelly, Alan Hommerding, and James Quinn SJ ensure that there is music here to enhance any community repertoire.

Unlike the original Taize: Instrumental that mirrors the songs found on Laudate Omnes Gentes, this collection of 19 songs is a sampling of your favorite Taize melodies from 11 of their most popular recordings. As with the first, Instrumental 2 comes with easy-to-sing refrains printed in six different languages. Solo and duet flutes play melodies and simple descants while the guitar accompanies throughout. The title song, extremely well received since its release in 2000, incorporates a simple repetitive response, making it an ideal piece for assembly participation at Christmastime. From John L. Bell and the Wild Goose Resource Group comes a new collection of 21 shorter songs for public worship. The music in The Truth that Sets Us Free magnifies God and the experience of God’s people and effectively offsets the personal focus that most popular praise songs emphasize. This diverse mix of world music has biblical roots and references—some express exultant praise—others yearning, or anger. Many of the songs are suitable for most Sundays while others are better suited to a particular season or liturgical act. It is the hope of the Iona Community that this collection will add to the pool of similar material, which takes both God and the world seriously, since it was for the world and not just humanity that Christ came.

Twenty-four of the most widely sung psalm settings for the church year adapted using the texts of the Revised Grail Psalter by two of the most notable composers in sacred music today. Marty Haugen and David Haas have combined forces to retrofit some of their most beloved psalm settings from the Psalms for the Church Year series with the new Grail Psalter texts. The refrains are now faithful to the wording from the Lectionary for Mass and each of the 24 psalms in this collection now employ the precise translations from the Revised Grail Psalter. The verses on a number of the psalms have been arranged to offer performance options as either an accompanied melodic line or as a chanted psalm tone. These new arrangements are true to the new texts while still honoring the beautiful melodies of the original settings.

It's been some time since we've heard from the composer of the beloved "Taste and See," but Come to the Feast is certainly worth the wait. A resident of Vienna, Austria, James Moore has made a special return visit to the United States to record this lively new collection. Along with favorites never before available on CD, this collection also includes new material Jim has written in the past several years. Known for simple refrains perfect for assembly singing, this collection offers "Let Us Go Rejoicing," featuring a delightful refrain in canon; "Love Endures," a wedding song with a simple congregation response; and "Praise Ye the Lord," a wonderful new hymn. "I Am Special" was written for use with children's choirs and may also be used with a combined choir of adults and children. "Alive!" is a lively song written especially for youth, while "Be Still" is a meditative tune ideal for after Communion.

Healing Song is a new collection of liturgical music in the signature Celtic style of Liam Lawton. His rich, tenor voice and the splendid orchestrations of Mark Cahill combine to fashion a recording that is an invocation of hope. The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the beatific voices of the St. Colman’s Cathedral Chamber Choir directed by Dominic Finn add a dimension to this recording that paints an angelic picture of what heaven must be. From the first pleading note of the violin on “Sing Alleluia” to the final diminuendo of “Sing Forever,” the music of Healing Song offers a soothing balm to nurse the wounded hearts of humankind.

Sally Ann Morris and Adam Tice began working together in 2008, when Sally was asked to compose a few tunes for Adam’s first collection, Woven into Harmony. This initial collaboration was the beginning of what has become a dynamic partnership. In this symbiotic pairing new inspiration emerged, generating contemporary but timeless music where text and tune seamlessly unite. The a cappella choral writing on “Will You Hold Me in the Light,” and “This Is My Body” is so lush and intricate that accompaniment is not necessary, while the poetry of “God Give Me Faith like a Child,” and “Breath of God, Breath of Peace” illustrate the innocence and fearlessness essential in our love and trust of God. Stylistically ranging from a cappella choral to Latin jazz, each piece offers a musical and textual sophistication that powerfully conveys themes of journey and longing for God’s guidance.

After the success of 49 Hidden Treasures and 46 More Hidden Treasures, we've switched our focus and have recorded 42 of the most beloved hymns of the church. With this recording, GIA hopes to preserve the tried-and-true treasures of the African American religious experience. Favorites like “Guide My Feet,” “How Great Thou Art,” “It Is Well with My Soul,” and “Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling” are just a few of the songs at the heart of this recording. These hymns play a deeply formative role in the shared faith and theology of the assembly. It is our hope that 42 Treasured Favorites will inspire, edify, and uplift the lives and souls of every listener.

In an effort to reveal the hidden gems contained in the African American Heritage Hymnal, James Abbington has unearthed a wealth of under-discovered hymns intended to lift the spirit and soothe the soul. This recording includes selections of gospel songs and spirituals along with modern hymns and even songs from Africa. Some of the jewels in this collection include "The Angels Keep A-Watchin'," "Hallelujah, We Sing Your Praises," "The Storm Is Passing Over," and "If You Live Right." Expertly sung by a choir of students and graduates from Morgan State University, these 49 Hidden Treasures are sure to become familiar favorites.

For accomplished vocalist Theresa Donohoo, liturgical music has always been a family affair, most often traveling and performing with her husband Rory Cooney (with their son in tow) and family friend Gary Daigle. Now, with Family Resemblance, Theresa sings of the larger family that we are in Christ. The songs on this recording are a testament to the ups and downs, joys and trials of the family of God, and the ever-present faith that leads us through. Theresa seemlessly interprets the trusting and faithful text of "The Deer's Cry: I Arise," a simply magnificent piece of music. Throughout the recording, Theresa's voice is at once strong and tender with a spirited Irish lilt, stirring the emotions of the soul. A wonderful collection by a inspired vocalist!

43 tracks on 2 CDs recorded between 1945 and 1950 by the Legendary Blind Boys of Mississippi. This is the most comprehensive overview of the group ever released. The lead vocals are performed by the incomparable Archie Brownlee, whose vocal prowess was an inspiration to scores of R&B and Soul singers who grew up listening to him. These titles were recorded for America's premier Gospel labels Peacock Records, and some of the earlier tracks were recorded for the Coleman label owned by the Coleman Brothers, who also have a release on Acrobat this month. This series has been greeted with great acclaim by both Radio and Press around the world, and we are confident that this package will be no exception. It comes with comprehensive liner notes from expert, Opal Louis Nations and many rare and unseen illustrations.

Acrobat has a significant catalogue of gospel collections by many of the leading quartets of the classic era in the immediate post-war decades, and this release adds a further dimension to that repertoire with the highly-regarded Miami-based husband and wife duo of Sullivan and Iola Pugh, who performed as The Consolers, Sullivan Pugh was born in Moorhaven, Florida in 1925. When his mother was killed in the 1926 Lake Okeechobee hurricane, Pugh and his five siblings were adopted by a family in the community of Punta Gorda. Pugh began singing as a child soloist at the First Born Church of the Living God in Miami. He met his wife Lola when she was singing with the Miami Gospel Singers. The couple married in 1950. In 1952 the pair decided to form a gospel trio with Pearl Nance-Rayford, and they called themselves the Miami Soul Stirrers. Their original repertoire was based on the traditional spirituals and songs of the Holiness Church. Early influences included other African American gospel groups such as the Soul Stirrers of Chicago (from which they took their name) and the National Gospel Twins of Delray Beach, Florida. In 1953, Nance-Rayford quit the trio and Sullivan and Lola took the name the Spiritual Consolers for their duet.

The Swanee Quintet are one of the premier vocal groups in the history of gospel music, and have been singing in different guises since 1939. They are noted for having a powerful and impassioned style, introducing more adventurous vocal arrangements during the 1950s as gospel moved into the commercial arena. Their first dozen years or so with the Nashboro label have come to be regarded as very much their golden era, characterised by the bluesey guitar of Pee Wee Crawford, the fine background harmonies of Charlie Barnwell, Rufus Washington and Big Red Anderson, and the distinctive lead vocals of Ruben Willingham. This great-value 53-track collection comprises all their releases on Nashboro through to 1962, including the A and B sides of all their singles, plus all the tracks from their album releases which were not otherwise released as singles. To the best of our knowledge these recordings have never been compiled on one CD before, so this is a rare opportunity to obtain a comprehensive selection of their early recorded work in one collection

This unique collection is a befitting tribute to Elvis Presley's 3 x Grammy Award winning gospel and inspirational work. Discs 1 through 3 feature his entire non-secular studio masters in chronological order. Disc 4 covers the additional masters made for Elvis' movies, his comeback TV special in 1968, and recordings made live on stage. Disc 4 also includes two segments of Elvis singing religious songs in a more informal setting. The first segment includes Elvis with J.D. Sumner and the Stamps relaxing at the end of a long day at RCA's Hollywood studio on March 31, 1972. The final three recordings were done at his Los Angeles home in 1966, in preparation for the album HOW GREAT THOU ART. This four discs set is remastered from the original tapes using the latest DSD technology for optimum sound quality. As with his secular music, Elvis invented his own version of gospel, drawing from every element of his vast musical knowledge without any musical prejudice or racial barriers. I BELIEVE - THE GOSPEL MASTERS offers the most comprehensive overview of Elvis' non-secular performances and provides testament to Elvis's musical excellence and his contribution to the popularization of religious music.

When The Collingsworth Family decided to live stream a concert from home to benefit Samaritan's Purse on March 29, they had no idea what God would do with this act of obedience. As a last minute decision, they set up recording equipment to record an event that would be viewed by more than 595,000 people and raise more than $220,000 for Samaritan's Purse, the Franklin Graham organization that had just moved into New York City, the U.S. epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. The songs they shared were encouraging and calming - something fans so desperately needed as many states were going into government-imposed lockdowns that very week. The Collingsworth Family could not have anticipated what God would do with their simple effort to support Samaritan's Purse. Fans flooded their office with requests for recordings of this event.
