The Nocturnes and Barcarolles demonstrate Faur�'s art at it's most personal, progressing from early lyricism to the elusive, rarefied style of the later works. Marc-Andr� Hamelin's performances are predictably fine, and combine exceptional subtlety with magisterial keyboard authority.
