Gustav Mahler wrote a number of songs of singular beauty, some re-used in his orchestral works, including settings of poems from the Romantic anthology Des Knaben Wunderhorn (The Boy’s Magic Horn), Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer) and Rückert’s Kindertotenlieder (Songs of the Death of Children). These songs have for a long time been in the concert repertoire of baritone Peter Mattei, one of the most sought-after singers of his generation, who is heard here singing these very Mahler songs with the Norrköping Symphony under the baton of Jochen Rieder.

This release is the newest from Swedish vocalist Isabella Lundgren. It features arrangements of classic Bob Dylan songs, sung with Isabella's exceptional artistry. Dorothy Fields (July 15, 1904– March 28, 1974) was an American librettist and lyricist. She wrote over 400 songs, 15 Broadway musicals, and 26 films. Her strong characterizations, precise language, and heartfelt and humorous approach have granted her a special place in the history of American music and popular culture.

This album is a love letter to this remarkable woman who was way ahead of her time.

Amanda once again invites the listener to her well-turned and swinging melodic jazz in Swedish, but the listener can also sense a sour self-distance in the middle of the warm and everyday considerations. Amanda Ginsburg sings about the simple in everyday life, the seemingly banal stories that make up a large part of all of our lives, and she does it with gusto. Today she is one of Sweden's biggest jazz artists and constantly plays to sold-out houses around Sweden. Amanda has won Jazz of the Year at the Grammy Awards in both 2019 and 2021 and has participated in Allsang at Skansen, SVT's National Day celebration, Nyhetsmorgon, Go Kvall, Doobidoo and Pa Sparet. She has also received several prizes and scholarships, e.g. Sweden's composer/lyricist's Jazz Prize and the country is full of young people who are introduced to jazz music by listening to and playing Amanda's music.

Benny Andersson started out as a keyboard player and composer in a Swedish rock band in the sixties. After meeting Bjorn Ulvaeus in 1966, his writing developed through their creative companionship and a couple of years later, ABBA was born. With Benny’s music, Bjorn’s lyrics and the girls’ voices, the success was unprecedented. Benny has since then explored and developed his composing skills through musicals, music for film and theater, folk music etc. Bjorn Ulvaeus has been a very important and invaluable partner through the years, but this album is focused on the very music composed by Benny. Despite lack of musical education and not reading music he writes like a classical composer. This has been Anders Berglund’s inspiration for these new arrangements and with the beautiful playing of virtuoso Christian Svarfvar and the great London Philharmonic Orchestra, this album wants to shed new light over Benny Andersson’s music.
