Lee Konitz was a pioneering alto saxophonist central to the Cool Jazz movement, known for his lyrical, introspective improvisational style and association with Miles Davis's 'Birth of the Cool' sessions. His tone was distinctively light and floating, making contemplative and intimate genuinely defining qualities rather than generic placeholders.
