Stefanie Schumacher was born near Freiburg and is a member of the Ensemble Zeitsprung. She performs regularly as a guest with other contemporary ensembles such as the Ensemble Oktopus. With works that she has herself commissioned, her goal is to allow the direct emotional expression particularly associated with the accordion in folk music to influence the contemporary creation of new music for her instrument.

The Morbisch Festival on the Lake has a new artistic director starting this year: Dagmar Schellenberger. And, as in every year, OehmsClassics is issuing the recording of the performance of this festival held in the Austrian province of Burgenland.

Verena Fischer is one of the leading baroque transverse flutists of her generation, and Leon Berben is considered a master in the field of harpsichord and organ. Together they've recorded the 12 flute sonatas of Johan Helmich Roman and a selection of six Quantz sonatas.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their first stage appearance, Singer Pur presents it's first and only pop production release. Singer Pur has won various awards including the first prize in the 1994 Deutscher Musikwettbewerd and a year later, the Grand Prix for vocal ensembles at the international Tampere Music Festival. They have toured in over 40 countries and performed with orchestras such as the Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra Berlin and the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne.

This new release by Eight Strings is virtuosic, inventive and diverse. Present by Ondrej Kukal, extends far beyond the limits of any piece for cello and violin. The featured piece is the Sonata for Violin and Violoncello by Maurice Ravel in dedication of Claude Debussy. Valeria Nasushkina and Mikael Samsonov are Laureates of the prestigious "Gaetano Zinetti" International Competition, First Prize winners of the "Marco Fiorindo" International Competition in Torino and the Absolute Winners of the 7th "Citt� di Padova Prize" International Competition 2009.

The Mediterranean Sea, the cradle of many great cultures and travel route between Orient and Occident, is the point of departure of this enthralling album by the Pera Ensemble. On this release, the Pera Ensemble has dedicated itself to the Early Baroque - the period of transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque period itself. The program consists entirely of Italian music adapted together with Ottoman music. This album contains numerous world premiere recordings.

The one hundredth anniversary marking the death of Max Reger (1873-1916) is to be commemorated in 2016. In response to this occasion, OehmsClassics has presented and will continue to present yearly a single four-disc box set of Reger's extensive output of organ music during the years 2013-2016 in a co-production with the Bavarian Broadcasting Company (BR Klassik) in order to pay tribute to this magnificent Bavarian composer. Bernhard Buttmann, director of church music at N�rnberg's St. Sebald cathedral knows and plays the works of Reger to a degree paralleled by few contemporary organists.

May 11, 2016 is the centennial anniversary of the death of Max Reger. This box set is the fourth and final volume in OehmsClassics series of Reger’s complete works for organ. The pieces contained in this set include Reger’s Four Preludes and Fugues, Nine Pieces for Organ, Small Chorale Preludes, and Fantasia and Fugue in D minor, among many other great works. Performing these pieces is a master of Reger organ works, Bernhard Buttmann, who interprets these works like no other.

In 2005, Thomas Gropper founded vocal ensemble Arcis Vocalists. Today the group consists of 50 singers who are actively engaged in the Bavarian and Munich concert scene. Following their debut album of Cantatas BWV 131 and 182, they now present Cantatas BWZ 12 and BWV 147.

A Witches' Sabbath, A Little Dance with the Grim Reaper and The Battle on the Ice. The author of the programme booklet of this album, Hartmut Luck, gave these headings to the three magnificent works recorded for OehmsClassics by the Gurzenich Orchestra with Dmitrij Kitajenko. The Gurzenich Orchestra of Cologne and its Honorary Conductor since 2009, Dmitrij Kitajenko, have been united in an outstanding collaboration lasting over the course of decades. Their Tchaikovsky cycle, already now considered a reference recording, was completed in early 2014 with the Seventh Symphony and the Third Piano Concerto. Their recording of Tchaikovsky's one act opera Iolanta issued in the summer of 2015, with Olesya Golovneva, Alexander Vinogradov and Andrei Bondarenko in the leading roles, created a sensation and received outstanding reviews in the international specialist press. This highly successful artistic collaboration was continued with an equally highly praised Rachmaninoff cycle. The Gurzenich Orchestra of Cologne and Dmitrij Kitajenko have dedicated their latest recording to Tchaikovsky's complete ballet music to The Nutcracker as well as Stravinsky's Divertimento from The Fairy's Kiss.
