The musical world is familiar with the 5 violin concerti up to K. 219; on the other hand, the Concerto K. 271a can't be definitively attributed to Mozart. It's dated approximately 1777 and was designated as the seventh of his violin concerti. This is an ingenious meeting of the soloist Mirijam Contzen, who has herself written all the cadenzas for the concertos, Reinhard Goebel and the bavarian chamber philharmonic. An absolute must for lovers of the violin, and especially for lovers of Mozart.

‘Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her’ is a new CD featuring organ music with which to celebrate the Christmas season. + Works by Bach, Brahms and Barber stand alongside lesser-known works by composers including Alexandre Guilmant (1837-1911), Otto Malling (1848-1915) and Flor Peeters (1903-86), making for an interesting and diverse holiday listening experience. + Michael Hartmann (b. 1955), organist, lecturer and artistic director, is the featured performer on the Oehms Classics release.

OehmsClassics is delighted to announce the future cooperation with Andres Orozco-Estrada and his Tonkunstler-Orchestra Niederosterreich. This recording of Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14 with the Tonkunstler Orchestra is the first CD being issued.

This 3CD collection highlights past releases by the young renowned recorder and blockflöte virtuoso, early music specialist and OehmsClassics artist Stefan Temmingh. CD1, ‘Corelli À la Mode’, features, among other works, the groundbreaking op. 5 sonatas in world premiere recordings of the 18th c. ornamented versions. CD2, ‘The Gentleman’s Flute, follows on with works by Handel and the last disc features select excerpts from the French and English works by J.S. Bach and other Bach miscellany.

The French composer Olivier Messiaen was one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. He prepared the way for surrealism in the 1950s and opened up musical language to non-European influences extending far beyond Debussy. Messiaen even used birdsong in order to create music of 'fairy-like splendor.' Susanne Kessel combines piano compositions of Messiaen with American composer Leon Milo's Soundscapes on this CD. As in a kind of audio-book, Messiaen's piano works and real sounds from his life are combined in Leon Milo's Soundscapes to form impressive sound collages. They allow a rapprochement with the Messiaen phenomenon that is as sensual as it is true-to-life, without in any way detracting from his mystery.

The Dichterliebe cycle is completed by the Sieben Frü-he Lieder (Seven Early Songs) of Alban Berg. Dutch tenor Arnold Bezuyen has already appeared internationally on the stages of the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, at the Bayreuth Festival, the Covent Garden Opera and the Vienna State Opera; he made his MET debut in New York last season.

Oehms Classics presents the debut recording of young, virtuoso violinist Caroline Adomeit. This bold program of music ranging from Bach's Partitas to Ysaue's Mazurka showcases her diverse skill set. Strad Magazine praised Caroline Adomeit: "An uneven program does little to hide the obvious skills of a young fiddler."

Susanne Kessel has dedicated this CD to the works of John Cage, the American Composer, Zen Buddhist and passionate mushroom eater. John Cage would be exactly 100 years old this year. Kessel is actively supported in this project by Joachim Krol, the speaker/narrator of these short stories. In 1993, Susanne Kessel was a prizewinner of the International Schubert Competition.

2016 will mark the centenary of the German late-Romantic composer Max Reger’s death. + Between 2013–1016, OehmsClassics will present in commemoration, and in co-production with the Bavarian Broadcasting Company (BR Klassik), a boxed set of 4 CDs per year building toward a complete accounting of Reger’s organ music. + As on 2013’s Complete Works for Organ Vol. 1: Early Works (OC 851), Munich-born Organist Bernhard Buttmann, director of church music at St. Sebald, Nürnberg since 2002, performs.
