After the big success of the album FLOW we have here new recordings that are completely different from the previous ones in one respect. Here, the duo of Axel Wolf and Hugo Siegmeth plays exclusively their own pieces. They do not resort to classical material from jazz or 'standards' of Early Music, but only to ones that are unfamiliar. For they are pieces that emerged spontaneously: nothing but duo improvisations, most of which were recorded on one and the same day in a Bavarian Radio studio in Munich. The lutenist Axel Wolf and the saxophonist Hugo Siegmeth who join forces here are two musicians with roots in completely different musical disciplines. A virtuoso on the lute and theorbo, Axel Wolf specializes in the Renaissance and Baroque periods, whereas Hugo Siegmeth, saxophonist and composer, is an expert on modern jazz and contemporary music. Although several centuries lie between the heydays of both musical styles, these two musicians both place special focus on improvisation: involvement in the surprising moment and spontaneous interaction.

2016 will be the 100 anniversary of composer, organize and pianist Max Reger's death. On this occasion, Bernhad Buttmann will record the complete organ works on CD in cooperation with the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. Volume I includes the early works of Reger.

Recorded over the course of two and a half years, this four disc set showcases a comprehensive body of esteemed countertenor Valer Sabadus's repertoire. Valer Sabadus, despite his young age, has already joined the ranks of the world's best vocalists. Sabadus's wide-ranging repertoire extends from early Baroque works by the great masters, to contemporary pieces riddled with unique harmonies and vocal techniques. The breadth of his abilities is shown through his versatility and adaptability. This CD set includes works from Johann Adolph Hasse, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Henry Purcell, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, among others.

The birth of the classical guitar

Petr Eben is considered to be one of the Czech Republic's leading contemporary composers. His organ compositions explore new territory in regard to playing techniques, sound and subject matter. His goal is to convey a message to listeners, through commentaries or - as in his Second Organ Concerto - by prefixing his scores with a motto. Formal clarity and understandability are a requirement for him. His music is characterized by free tonality that always includes tonal sections. Gunther Rost was able to win two prominent guest musicians for this CD: Tine Ting Helseth (trumpet) and Babette Haag (percussion).

Schumann: Kreisleriana - Arabeske - Carnaval

The present CD is dedicated to one of the most beautiful new organs in Austria, the instrument from the Lenter workshop built in early 2010 in the parish church "Unserer lieben Frau Geburt" in Maishofen with 25 sounding stops. Thanks to it's soft, sustainable and very natural sound, this organ is ideally suited for the adequate presentation of organ music of all significant epochs; combined with the warm acoustics, this organ is inspiring to an exceptional degree for players and listeners alike.

In all three of these sonatas by composer Karl Wolfrum a heterogeneous approach is taken. Technically, the works follow Bach, dramatically, the narrative concepts of the New German School and in terms of sound and aesthetics, a subtle use of the instrument's solo voices and dynamic differentiation. Oehms Classics now presents a 2011 recording with Norwegian organist Halgeir Schiager.
