A crossover where spoken word and poetry meet jazz improvisation and the power of the big band. In this unique production, the acclaimed poet and performer Daniel Boyacioglu, the skilled jazz pianist Mathias Landaeus, and the renowned Bohuslan Big Band come together. The music is based on Daniel Boyacioglu and Mathias Landaeus Trio's albums Bon for varlden (Prayer for the World) and alska oss nu (Love Us Now), but here takes on entirely new dimensions in arrangements for big band. This Time is a concert that moves straight into the fractures and connections of the present moment. With Daniel Boyacioglu's poetic texts as a starting point, it reflects questions of identity, belonging, love, and power - where the personal is inseparably intertwined with the political. It is an observation of the now, marked by vulnerability and resistance, where anger, tenderness, humour, and prayer exist side by side. Together with Mathias Landaeus's sensitive improvisations and the powerful soundscapes of the Bohuslan Big Band, the words become both fragile and monumental - a shared attempt to understand this time, while we are living in it. Daniel and Mathias first met on the stage of Fasching in the early 2000s. Since then, they have built both a deep friendship and an artistic brotherhood. Now they are taking the next step, opening the door to a new musical encounter - together with the Bohuslan Big Band.
Eskil Roos, born in 2001 in Lund, is a Swedish pianist and composer based in Malmö. He has distinguished himself through a lyrical touch and a dreamlike musical expression that carries both stillness and drive. In the autumn of 2026, he releases his debut album Mystery of the Mind on Prophone - Naxos Sweden. Mystery of the Mind turns it's gaze inward, toward the processes behind our decisions: how the mind perceives, hesitates, reacts, and is shaped by experiences we do not always fully understand. Rather than seeking clear answers, the music lingers in a state of wonder, where direction sometimes emerges through intuition and awareness rather than control. The album explores the theme of the many choices we are faced with and how our desire to make the most of our time can become overwhelming. When we realize how limited time truly is, each decision gains greater weight. What is not chosen falls away, and what remains is filled with meaning. The music moves between Nordic jazz, classical, and folk. Through the album, the listener is invited to pause within an otherwise hectic society and enter a musical landscape where each composition is carefully shaped to tell a story.
When Josefine entered her second half-century in 2021 (sometimes it's permissible to mention the age of a lady...), Norrbotten Big Band decided to celebrate her achievements by commissioning six big band pieces from composers who, at different times and on different occasions, have been connected with Josefine. We are very happy with the result and confident that the sometimes challenging nature of the music will create a portrait of Josefine with all her magnificence on full display.

Almost two years after the group's first album, What The Moment Brings, the follow-up is here. A few minutes into the first song, it becomes obvious why I fell in love with this music in the first place: the beautiful compositions and this outstanding group of musicians. The two strong and lyrical leaders are complemented by the superb rhythm section of Niklas Fernqvist, with his elegant tone, and Paul Svanberg, with his undeniable swing.
Saxophonist Sigurdur Flosason has been one of Icelands most active jazz musicians for the past decades. Through out his career he's cooperated with some of Scandinavia's finest musicians. On his latest release, Blue shoes, his partners are Danes Kjeld Lauritsen on Hammond organ and Kristian Leth on drums, both of whom he has cooperated with on previous releases. New to the mix is the outstanding Swedish guitarist Erik Soderlind. On a few tracks they are joined by Danish percussion master Birger Sulsbruck. The music, all Flosason's originals, is a cross between jazz and blues with a personal and nordic twist. The album was recorded at Village recording in Copenhagen during the summer of 2025. Sigurdur Flosason has recorded over thirty CDs and is a multiple winner of the Icelandic music awards.

The music on this album reflects upon and responds to the state of the world it's wars, polarization, and climate change. It fills me with melancholy and sorrow, yet within this darkness, I also see hope through the people I encounter in my life and the power of the positive initiatives that still take place. Hope grows in intimate conversations, in the creative space of music where we intuitively understand each other through listening, in children's play, and in resistance against narrow-mindedness. In the resilience of nature, society, and people during this uncertain time of change. Photographer Anders Petersen has generously allowed me to use his image Hamburg as the album cover. To me, the image speaks of an unfathomable moment of mutual connection of resonance in the midst of everyday life. And perhaps hope lies precisely there, in our wonder and resonance with the world around us. Three compositions Ruins, Evening Hymn, and With Hope draw inspiration from traditional hymns of Gammelsvenskby in Ukraine. Parts of the theme in Arctic Call are based on phrases from an Inuit drum song from Greenland, and the original idea for Woods in Blue comes from a polska from Harjedalen, Sweden. The closing piece, O Magnum Mysterium by Francis Poulenc, was originally written for soprano solo and choir.
Irma Neumuller & Seth Sjostrom are two Swedish jazz musicians and composers based in Berlin. Their collaboration began as early as 2020 at Skurups Folk High School, where they quickly connected through their shared love of jazz and improvisation. In this project, they come together in an intimate duo setting, interpreting jazz standards, original compositions, and selected favorites from the Swedish pop and folk music repertoire. The contrasts between Irma and Seth-both as musicians and as individuals-are explored. The result is a unique and intimate sound that sheds new light on both the compositions and themselves. Over the past few years, Irma and Seth have performed in various ensembles across Sweden and the rest of Northern Europe, and both have made a name for themselves on the Nordic jazz scene.
