For Music Volume 3: Herb Alpert Reimagines The Tijuana Brass, beloved and prolific musician Herb Alpert has revisited some of his most iconic songs with the Tijuana Brass, and transformed them. This reinvention of historic recordings like "A Taste Of Honey," "Lonely Bull," "Spanish Flea" and many more were "scrambled up," as Herb says. A mix of new arrangements, production, new studio takes and in some case even samples of the originals were used to make them fresh and surprising, and a way for Herb to continue sharing positivity with a world in need of it. The album also finds Herb continuing his partnership with producer Jochem van der Saag. Several of the songs on Music Volume 3 appeared on albums during an unprecedented run in 1966, when four Herb Alpert and Tijuana Brass releases were on the Billboard Top 10 at the same time. Music Volume 3 begins appropriately with "The Lonely Bull," Alpert's first smash hit. It includes a surprising mash-up, too - of "Spanish Flea" into "Rise," two famous songs blended together here for the first time.

The exciting original compositions on Come Fly With Me were inspired by everything from a Tito Puente rhythm Alpert fell in love with (the propulsive "Night Ride") to jamming with his world class band in between shows on tour (the fun, reggae-infused "Cheeky" was born of these sessions). On "Walkin' Tall", another track with a punchy reggae beat, Alpert's trumpet melody slinks and slides. Herb's take on one of Frank Sinatra's most famous recordings, "Come Fly With Me," is set to a groovy bossa nova beat with the surprising addition of a steel drum. His sparse take on George Harrison's "Something" includes the use of an electronic instrument known as an EVI, to play the signature guitar lick from the original recording.

On September 10, 2011, The New York Philharmonic presented ‘A Concert for New York,’ a free performance led by Music Director Alan Gilbert of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Resurrection. This performance, hailed by the New York Times as “intensely moving,” was given in remembrance and renewal of the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001. Telecast in the US on Sunday, September 11, 2011 on PBS’ Great Performances, this musical tribute is now available on DVD and BluRay.

“Mahler’s Second Symphony, Resurrection, powerfully and profoundly explores the range of emotions provoked by the memories of 9/11,” said Alan Gilbert. “This great masterpiece has a very special place in the history and psyche of the New York Philharmonic, but its message of renewal and rebirth is universal. We offer it as a tribute to those lost ten years ago.”

Inspired by the famous Service of Nine Lessons and Carols from King's College, Cambridge, these services were held in Bristol Chapel under the leadership of Sacred Music students and accompanied by student organists. Each year, for the past 30 years, we have gathered to witness this familiar tradition and to be moved by sound and word. Featuring performances at Seattle's Penthouse jazz club in 1966 with Stan Gilbert, Paul Humphrey and Tony Bazley, plus recordings by Resonance founder and co-president George Klabin from the Village Vanguard in 1967 with Leroy Vinnegar and Frank Severino. This is an official release (in cooperation with Les McCann) transferred from the original tapes and mastered for by the legendary Bernie Grundman. Deluxe 3 CD set includes an extensive booklet with rare photographs and liner notes, plus quotes and statements from Roberta Flack, Monty Alexander, Roger Kellaway, Emmet Cohen and others.

Buddy Rich - "The Lost Tapes" In April 1985 - two years before his untimely passing - Buddy Rich and his band recorded a concert at One Pass Productions' King Street Studio in San Francisco using state-of-the-art equipment designed to capture the band in a typically live setting with natural acoustic balances and three-dimensional imaging.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2018 with their debut album, On, Amsterdam-based Altin Gun have been at the vanguard of the 21st century revival of Turkish-influenced psychedelic grooves. Now, the Grammy-nominated quintet return with their sixth studio album Garip - their most ambitious and diverse release to date, and a heartfelt tribute to Neset Ertas - a revered and much-loved Turkish singer, lyricist and baglama player who recorded more than 30 albums and wrote hundreds of songs.
