The Choir of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge with its director, Edward Wickham, present an exciting recording of extended and little-known Psalm settings by the Franco-Flemish Renaissance composer Claude Le Jeune. Selected from Le Jeune’s monumental 'Dodecacorde' collection of Psalms, and giving a fascinating insight into the exquisite French choral music of the late Renaissance, each Psalm is paired with a hymn setting of the same text by Louis Bourgeois harmonised by Claude Goudimel or Le Jeune himself. Framing the recording are hymn versions of the ‘Old Hundredth’ (Psalm 134) and the Song of Simeon. With musical activities ranging from intimate chamber/consort singing to large-scale choral consorts, from Anglican Evensong to Choral Compline, members of St Catharine’s College Choir have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of musical activities; and in its role as an ambassador for St Catharine's outside the College walls, the Choir’s concerts and recordings, educational and community work, has earned it a reputation for innovation and excellence.

Following on from their acclaimed recording debut on ‘Nova! Nova!’ shared with the college choir of St. Catharine’s, The Saint Catharine’s Girls’ Choir, make their solo debut with a full album of recent works for upper voices. This release is entitled Ave Maria after the two settings of this text by Rebecca Clarke and Cecilia McDowall. Following on from their earlier volume of piano works for four hands by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, pianists Julian Perkins and Emma Abbate complete their suvey with this release. This recording is performed on two period instruments from the Richard Burnett Heritage Collection of early keyboard instruments- a grand piano by Michael Rosenberger from around 1800, and a square piano from the 1820s by London's Clementi & Co. In addition to the Mozart works, this release also includes the Sonata in E flat major by Mozart's close contemporary Muzio Clementi. Described as 'an amazingly talented pianist' by Musica, the Neapolitan pianist Emma Abbate has performed duo recitals for international festivals and concert societies in Salzburg, Lisbon, Naples, Ischia, and Koscierzyna. She has also performed at prestigious UK venues. Based in London, she is professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a staff coach at the Royal Opera House. Described as 'exuberantly stylish' by The Sunday Times, Julian Perkins is Founder, Director of Sounds Baroque, and Artistic Director of Cambridge Handel Opera.

The period ensemble Orpheus Britannicus, with director Andrew Arthur, is joined by the renowned Baroque trumpeter Robert Farley for this fascinating album of works for his instrument. Charting the rise of the trumpet within art music during the Baroque period and the growing virtuosic and melodic capabilities of it's contemporary players, this thrilling programme tells of the coming of age of this exciting genre. Robert Farley studied at the Royal College of Music where he won several prizes including the Ernest Hall Memorial Prize. He is now a busy freelance trumpeter working with major orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra of London, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and London Sinfonietta. He is Principal Trumpet of the Orchestra of the Sixteen, Hanover Band, Concerto Copenhagen and Carmel Bach Festival, California and is also regular guest principal with Stuttgart Baroque Orchestra. With these groups he has appeared as principal trumpet on numerous critically acclaimed recordings including Bach's B Minor Mass and Orchestral Suites, Handel's Messiah and Coronation Anthems. He has been guest principal and soloist with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Academy of Ancient Music and Tafelmusik, Canada.

The Fidelio Trio return to Resonus Classics joined by the acclaimed clarinettist Julian Bliss to present this album of recent chamber works by British composer Michael Zev Gordon. Presenting a varied programme of instrument combinations, the trio and Julian present works stretching back over fifteen years, celebrating Michael's individual and idiomatic voice along with both the fascinating and wide-ranging influences within his music. Resonus Classics is pleased to present an exquisite album of orchestral and chamber works by the London-based contemporary composer Peter Fribbins. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra and conductor Robertas Servenikas are joined by violinist Philippe Graffin and trumpeter Christopher Hart in a programme of mostly world premiere recordings including Soliloquies for Trumpet & Strings and the substantial Concerto for Violin and Orchestra titled Dances, Elegies & Epitaphs dedicated to the memory of the composer's father. Completing this portrait is Capriccio for Orchestra, based on the hymn tune ''Abide with Me'' and the wind quintet ''In Xanadu''.

Finnish flute virtuoso Sami Junnonen joins the celebrated London ensemble Chamber Domaine for a new recording of the complete Flute Quartets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. These four quartets, much admired as key works of this genre of the Classical era, see Chamber Domaine exploring new and broader musical avenues as the group looks to this earlier repertoire with stunning effect. Born in Tampere, Finland in 1977, Sami Junnonen has established a versatile international career by performing as a flute soloist with a wide repertoire from early music to contemporary works. Junnonen collaborates frequently with many of the most significant composers of our time. His 2012 debut recital at the Helsinki Music Centre of Finland and his recent debut as a soloist with the Houston Symphony Orchestra received outstanding reviews. Junnonen officially represented Finalnd on it's centenary of independence by touring in Russia in December 2017.

The two resident choirs of St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and their director Edward Wickham, join together to record this stunning and evocative selection of contemporary Christmas carols. The college can boast having the first and only college-based Oxbridge girls' choir, and its own beautiful chapel in the very heart of Cambridge, provided the venue for this debut recording of the recently founded St Catharine's Girls' Choir. Joined by the student choir, the album features premieres from such composers as Richard Rodney Bennett, Roxanna Panufnik, Cecilia McDowall and John Tavener. It also includes works specially written for the Girls' Choir by Stevie Wishart and Christopher Fox.

Following on from the universal critical acclaim of their first album with Resonus (This Christmas Night - RES10113), the Choir of Worcester College, Oxford - under the direction of Stephen Farr - return with a second album of contemporary Christmas Carols. Entitled Nowell sing we, this new selection contains works from a wide variety of celebrated composers including Gabriel Jackson, Peter Maxwell Davies, Lennox Berkeley, Colin Matthews, Francis Pott, Edmund Rubbra, Richard Rodney Bennett & Herbert Howells among many others, with no fewer than nine world premieres. Also featured throughout the programme are the seven O Antiphon Preludes for solo organ by Nico Muhly, performed here by Stephen Farr on the organ of Keble College, Oxford.

Acclaimed organist, Stephen Farr returns with an album of organ masterworks from the Tudor and Jacobean era performed on the new Taylor & Boody Organ (Opus 66) of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. Installed in 2013, this single manual, mechanical action instrument, features seven stops and was specifically designed to accompany and perform music from the English Renaissance. Here Farr performs virtuosic works by some of the period's leading composers including William Byrd's Voluntarie for my ladye nevell and John Bull's Coranto Joyeuse. Other composers featured on the album include Thomas Tallis, Thomas Tomkins, John Blitheman and Orlando Gibbons. Farr is also joined by The Gentlemen of the Choir of Sidney Sussex College directed by David Skinner.

Featuring a stellar cast of performers, and curated by pianist Dylan Perez, this complete anthology of Samuel Barber's songs present those works published during his lifetime, together with those published posthumously, some of which are recorded here for the first time. Barber was clear as to what he wanted from very early in his life, and this strength of character and courage to follow his path is heard throughout Barber's significant contribution to the genre. At a time when American classical music was heavily influenced by experimentalism, Barber's inclination for 'traditional' harmony and melody helped set him apart. Barber's vocal music demonstrates the ease he finds in the marriage of text and music. The Navarra String Quartet join the line-up for Dover Beach, Op. 3.

Flute and guitar ensemble Flauguissimo Duo make their Resonus debut with this unique programme of works for flute and guitar, 'A Salon Opera'. Taking it's inspiration from the Viennese salon music from the first half of the nineteenth century, when the music of the concert hall and opera was routinely brought into a more domestic setting, the Duo takes us on a journey through the rich repertoire both composed and arranged for the flute and guitar. Flauguissimo Duo was founded by flautist Yu-Wei Hu and guitarist Johan Lofving in 2008. Their wide repertoire, spanning from early music on period instruments to collaborations with new composers, has led to a particularly diverse performing career. They have performed many concerts in prestigious venues including Kings Place and Cadogan Hall in London as well as St. George's Bristol and Sage Gateshead in Newcastle. They were also invited to perform in the Stratford-on-Avon Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival Fringe, and others.

Largely neglected following her death, the music of Poldowski- alias of Irene Regine Wieniawska- is brought back to life in this reimagining by David Jackson, director of the Paris-based chamber group Ensemble 1904. Featuring twenty-two settings of poems by the nineteenth-century French poet Paul Verlaine, the ensemble makes its recording debut with this alluring and compelling programme of song. Taking his lead from Poldowski herself, known to have made chamber versions of her own songs, Jackson presents a vivid recreation of one of Poldowski’s own concerts of song from 1912 with arrangements of songs for violin, piano, and double bass, and an extract from Poldowski’s Violin Sonata. This new album includes a full-color booklet with liner notes.

For his latest solo recording, acclaimed organist Simon Nieminski returns to Resonus Classics with this pairing of two late organ works by the unjustly neglected twentieth-century French organist, pianist and composer Eugene Reuchsel. Both completed in the year before his death in 1988 these compelling collections, 'La Vie du Christ' and 'Bouquet de France', sum up Reuchsel's illustrious career as musician and composer and are here performed on the celebrated Rieger organ of St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh. Simon Nieminski was born in London and is Assistant Director of Music at St. Mary's Cathedral in Sydney. He studied in London at the Royal College of Music, at Cambridge University where he was Organ Scholar of Pembroke College, and as Organ Scholar of York Minster. Before moving to Australia in January 2018, he was Organist of St. Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral and Director of Music at The Robin Chapel in Edinburgh, having previously been organist and Master of the Music at Edinburgh's other (Scottish Episcopal) St. Mary's Cathedral.
