Atlantic Records & Universal Pictures are proud to announce Twisters: The Album - the star-studded musical companion to Twisters, a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. The unprecedented 29-track album features brand new tracks from Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Megan Moroney, Shania Twain, Tyler Childers and many more. The original score for Ken Burns's 2024 two-part documentary, LEONARDO da VINCI. The album features performances by the composer's longtime collaborators Attacca Quartet, So Percussion, and Roomful of Teeth as well as John Patitucci. Shaw wrote and recorded new music for LEONARDO da VINCI, marking the first time a Ken Burns film has featured an entirely original score. LEONARDO da VINCI is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahon. The film, which explores the life and work of the fifteenth century polymath Leonardo da Vinci, is Burns's first non-American subject.

Celebrate director Chris Columbus' classic hit film HOME ALONE and it's well-loved soundtrack by the legendary composer John Williams with a new CD reissue. The two-time Academy Awards� - nominated soundtrack was released alongside the 1990 film, with the film's theme "Somewhere in My Memory" becoming an instant classic in the cannon of both film and Christmas music.

Bear McCreary returns to compose music for the seventh season of Outlander where characters Jamie Fraser and Young Ian race to rescue Claire before she's tried and wrongfully convicted for the murder of Malva Christie. This season showcases a geopolitical firestorm: The American Revolution arriving to North Carolina. The second part of the series finds Claire, Jamie and Young Ian leaving the colonies and arriving in their beloved homeland of Scotland. The perils of the Revolutionary War force the Frasers to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home. The emotionally rich score includes songs influenced by Scottish folk music and colonial America. Romantic strings, anthemic percussion, delicate flutes, skillful bagpipes and fiddle rhythms are abundant on the soundtrack. Fans will also recognize musical melodies from previous seasons. Vocalists Sin�ad O'Connor and Griogair Labhruidh each have a track on the album.

Filmmaker Agnieszka Holland's 1995 retelling of the relationship between poets Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine earned a much-deserved critical thrashing, but its score remains a thing of beauty. Polish composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek's international breakthrough, Total Eclipse communicates the passion and invention of Rimbaud's poetry with a grace the film utterly lacks, employing the Warsaw Symphony and a small string quartet to evoke both the epic sweep and profound intimacy of his work. It's music that's raw and alive yet stunning in its adherence to classical traditions, buoyed by Kaczmarek's lyrical melodies and nuanced arrangements. ~ Jason Ankeny

From the Masterworks vault, NBC’s television adaptation of Alice Through the Looking Glass featured a starry cast including Agnes Moorehead (Bewitched), Ricardo Montalban (Fantasy Island), Robert Coote (My Fair Lady), Nanette Fabray, Jack Palance, Jimmy Durante and even The Smothers Brothers – as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!  This loose adaptation of the Lewis Carroll story, featuring Judi Rolin as Alice, first brought its blend of music and whimsy to television on November 6, 1966.  The great Don Costa arranged the Simmons/Charlap songs.

This collection brilliantly showcases Rosza's strengths, which ranged from historical pageants like Ivanhoe, fantasy epics like Knights of the Round Table, The Thief of Baghdad, and The Jungle Book, and of course, those dark, brooding "film noir" classics typified by The Lost Weekend (represented by an extended suite). Remarkably, Rosza's personality shines through all of this music just as it does for Korngold and Waxman. Much of the music has a distinctly Hungarian inflection that is here universalized to produce a moody, passionate, and often exotic idiom (witness The Thief of Baghdad) quite different from the work of the Viennese film composers active in Hollywood at the same time. As with other releases in this series, the performances are stupendously vivid, the sonics brilliant and lush. Available "on demand" from Arkivmusic.com, this is another mandatory acquisition for film music buffs.

Sony Music announces THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 2 (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK) with music by GRAMMY� Award-winning composer HEITOR PEREIRA (Despicable Me, The Angry Birds Movie, Smallfoot). The soundtrack features music from the second installment in the Angry Birds film franchise, featuring an all-star cast of talent and premiering in theaters Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Of the soundtrack, composer HEITOR PEREIRA says, "I love The Angry Birds Movie 2! I think it is super funny and I had a lot of fun writing the music for it." The flightless angry birds and the scheming green piggies take their beef to the next level in The Angry Birds Movie 2! When a new threat emerges that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger, Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) recruit Chuck's sister Silver (Rachel Bloom) and team up with pigs Leonard (Bill Hader), his assistant Courtney (Awkwafina), and techpig Garry (Sterling K. Brown) to forge an unsteady truce and form an unlikely superteam to save their homes.

From an interview with PlayStation, composer Bear McCreary had this to say about his work on the game's latest installment: "When Santa Monica Studio asked me to compose the score to the new God of War, I was awestruck, because I'm such a fan of the original games in the franchise. As I collaborated with game director Cory Barlog, it became clear that this new game would require wholly new music that did not revisit the memorable scores of the original games, but instead ventured forth into new musical territory. I took my memories of that classic God of War soundtrack - the deep choirs, pounding drums, and shrieking brass - and reinvented them for a Norse age. I wrote new themes, and introduced to the music exotic instrumentation and languages from various Northern European folk traditions."

Milan Records, an imprint of Sony Music Masterworks, announces the release of EUPHORIA (SCORE FROM THE ORIGINAL HBO SERIES) with music by chart-topping, multiplatinum-selling artist and producer LABRINTH. The album features score music from the first season of the hit HBO series and marks Labrinth's first-ever project as lead composer. Written and recorded in close collaboration with the show's writer Sam Levinson, his original compositions feature prominently throughout the series as a sonic companion to the show's angst-driven narrative. The resulting 26-track collection is a genre blending mix of gospel, soul and electronic influences, indicative both of Labrinth's imitable style as well as the show's deeply moving storyline. Of the album, LABRINTH says, "My experience with Euphoria has made me a better musician. It was a dream come true to give wings and add magic to the different storylines. Tolkien is embedded in popular culture, and because his work and outlook have been the subjects of much interpretation, I wanted to write music for Tolkien that would honor his ethos, his individualism, without being slavish to it. The musical vocabulary draws from a wide swath of instrumental and vocal colors, from winds with string accompaniment to solo voice in hushed pianissimo. There is Swedish kantélé, mandolin and monochord intersecting bell rhythms and piano-derived ambiences. The object is to give musical identity to the nascent feelings of the young storyteller from Birmingham, only just beginning to stretch his wings. And because much of the story is seen through the prism of his time spent in the trenches of World War I, there is that parallel experience of epic conflict that deepens my feeling for his language and, I hope, lets sound, noise, and melody rise up and sing.”
