In the history of political philosophy, she traces the key moments in the construction of certain indispensable tools for thinking about the present: Aristotelian reflection on democracy and power; the critical theory elaborated by the philosophers of the Frankfurt School; and the contractualism of American philosopher John Rawls, explored and criticized by Susan Moller Okin and Charles W.
