Theobald B�hm revolutionised the flute in the middle of the 19th century. He changed it's form and mechanics and constructed it from metals, which gave the flute a more flexible sound and new tone colors while enabling a more brilliant technique. The new flute inspired many composers, particularly in France at the beginning of the era of Modernism, which brought with it a variety of new compositional styles. With this album, I first and foremost wanted to draw attention to the panoply of compositional styles and to demonstrate how profound and full of character this music is. I would like to transcend the limits of the original instrumentation for flute and piano with my own arrangements. I want to create an entirely new sound experience and, by using the expressive capabilities of string instruments, reveal the repertoire's full potential of colors. Exhibitions and symposia on the work of the painter Peter Paul Rubens, which took place in Belgium from 1998 to 2014, were the main reason that led to this recording. The ensemble La Fenice was on a mission to help rediscovering the unjustly forgotten composers, all of them contemporaries of this universal genius, and their works. The relationship between music and painting soon becomes clear.

Enrique Granados' music is full of an emotion and tenderness that rightly elevates him to the status of a national monument of the same rank as Isaac Albéniz or Francisco Goya, whom he adored. The Frenchwoman Myriam Barbaux-Cohen and the Spaniard Granados: Two souls who understand each other blindly meet here and harmonize even over the temporal separation of a century. Myriam Barbaux-Cohen began learning piano in the city of La Rochelle. Soon after she was awarded First Prizes in Chamber Music and Piano from the Conservatory of Genevilliers. She continued her studies with Muza Rubackyte in the Russian Conservatory Serge Rachmaninoff in Paris. Myriam performs regularly at official events at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, and enjoys a busy career as a piano accompanist.

Magdalena M�llerperth (*1992) is one of the most engaging talents of her generation. She impresses her listeners with her original programmes, which often include unknown and rarely performed works. Here she plays piano works by two of the most important representatives of Classical Modernism, including Paul Hindemith's extremely rarely heard reconstructed Sonata Op. 17. The German pianist, Magdalena M�llerperth, began piano lessons at the age of 5. In 2003 she became a student of Professor Sontraud Speidel at the Public University of Music in Karlsruhe (Germany). Since November 2007, she has been a student of Professor Alexander Braginsky at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota USA, founded by scholarships. Since 1999 she has won more than 35 prizes at piano-competitions, inlcuding the Les Rencontres internationales des Jeunes Pianistesde l�An 2002 in Belgium, the Premio della Critica 2004 (RAI) at Concorso Europeo di Musica in Italy, the German state piano competition Jugend musiziert 2005 and the first prize of the Minnesota Orchestra, Young People�s Symphony Concert Association in the USA.

This new album presents works by Beethoven and his pupil, Ferdinand Ries. The pieces performed here include Ries’ Sonate op. 20, and Trois Airs Russes Varies, op. 72, and Beethoven’s Sonate op. 5 no. 1. This album is the product of the collaboration between cellist Juris Teichmanis, and pianist Hansjacob Staemmler.

Pianist and conductor Boris Bloch has long been regarded as one of the most important interpreters of classical and romantic piano music. Volume 5 on Ars Produktion contains live recordings of Rachmaninov's piano works.

Josef Rheinberger's Liederbuch f�r Kinder Op. 152 presents in a naive and spiritual way various situations and occurrences in the colorful lives of children. The songs recorded here for the first time almost always appear bright and comforting in their basic mood - even with texts of the deepest melancholy. In their clarity, beauty of sound, and dexterity they are still able to fascinate today's listeners. The work was written at the end of 1887, and is a collection of 30 narrative pictures or "scenes from the lives of children." It includes songs about waking up, encounters with animals from a child's perspective, and various depictions of child's play. Many of the songs contain moral lessons, highlighting important aspects of children's past and present education.

On this new release, Julia Rinderle presents a programme of music by Franz Schubert, the first composer in the history of music who considered composing, not performing, his first calling. Julia Rinderle, born in 1990 in Memmingen, studied in Hanover with Roland Krüger, at the Salzburg Mozarteum and in Vienna. She also attended numerous master classes (among others with Emanuel Ax and Paul Badura-Skoda). The young pianist fascinates her audience with strong stage presence and deeply felt playing. She is in high demand on concert stages across Europe and the United States. She released her debut album with works by Anselm Huttenbrenner in 2016.
