Digitally remastered edition of this posthumous 1972 release from the Jazz great. Infinity is an album by Alice Coltrane, overdubbing recordings by her late husband. Alice Coltrane's controversial 're-imagining' of her husband's late works was criticized by both fans and critics, as she took his original performances and superimposed them over lush orchestral backgrounds and re-dubbed rhythm section parts, as well as recording new solos on piano, organ, harp and timpani.

Featuring truly a 'who's who' of late 60s British jazz, this professionally recorded concert, recorded April 18, 1969 in Germany, has never before been released. At the time of the recording of this show, Surman had just finished recording his second album as a leader, How Many Clouds Can You See, so this is a unique chance to get an expanded view of his formative work as a leader and also at the early work of his musical compatriots who appear here with him. Surman states that "choice of material was up to me... and I wrote several pieces especially for the workshop-but it was customary to invite a few participants to bring a piece of their own if they wanted to; hence the pieces from Kenny, Erich, and Fritz."

Vinyl LP pressing. Ballads is a jazz album by John Coltrane. It was recorded in December 1961 and 1962. Critic Gene Lees stated that the quartet had never played the tunes before. "They arrived with music-store sheet music of the songs" and just before the recordings, they "would discuss each tune, write out copies of the changes they'd use, semi-rehearse for a half hour and then do it". Each piece was recorded in one take, except for "All or Nothing at All".

Marking the 150th anniversary of Berlioz's death, this performance of the mighty Requiem or Grande Messe des Morts - presented on both DVD and CD - took place in St Paul's Cathedral, London, in March 2019. Conducted by John Nelson, it involved over 300 musicians, including tenor Michael Spyres. As Nelson said: "Every measure resonates deeply with me and I feel there is sincerity, even in the great moments of bombast." The Times wrote: "The surpassing virtue of this performance... was that both aspects, the spine-shakingly spectacular and the heart-rendingly haunting, were allowed to make their impact."

The Music of Billy Strayhorn long thought of as a chapter within the Duke Ellington songbook has become recognized as one of the most important bodies of work in 20th century American music. In Strayhorn's short life time the greater part of recorded examples of his masterworks were by the Ellington Orchestra or groups led by players from that revered organization. In the half century since the death of the man affectionately known as Sweet Pea many of his classic compositions have found their way into the mainstream jazz repertory via recordings by some of the genre's greatest players. Ellington's eulogistic 1968 LP And His Mother Called Him Bill brought into sharp focus the breadth of Strayhorn'swork. Now we can add John DiMartino's uniquely personal interpretations to that illustrious list.

Bassist John Hbert has long been influenced by Mingus's music. It was Mingus's 1975 Atlantic recording, Changes One, that etched the clarity of the legend's vision and tone into Hbert's mind. Using the music and ensemble fluidity of the album as a direct inspiration, Hbert assembled an incredible band to play with the spirit of Mingus as a beacon for a number of performances from 2011 to 2013. The recording, Sounds of Love, presents the ensemble in their element, in a thrillingly dynamic live performance. // Having set roots in New York in the mid-1990s, Hbert became one of the most in demand bassists of his generation, upholding duties in bands led by Andrew Hill, Paul Bley, Mary Halvorson, and Uri Caine. Hbert continues to participate in a longstanding musical relationship with piano great Fred Hersch and has found himself in academia as a professor at Western Michigan University.

The incredible relationship between legendary British musicians Norma Winstone and John Taylor has been admired for nearly five decades. The vocalist and pianist have been inextricably linked from their early avant-garde work from the late 1960s through their gorgeous work with Kenny Wheeler and Azymuth.// The couple was also well documented in duo performance; their affinity for each other and their unique abilities are easily comprehended. Winstone and Taylor's In Concert is a remastered reissue of Enodoc Records' 1999 cassette tape release of a fascinating 1988 duo concert. Four years after the pianist's passing, this recording will remind listeners of the wonderful interplay and feel between Taylor and Winstone.// The performance presented on In Concert documents a quickly assembled concert that coincided with the culmination of Winstone and Taylor's teaching residency at the Guildhall Music School in London in August 1988. Though they didn't have time to put together an ensemble or theme, the two were able to provide the listeners, including many of their students, with a wonderfully diverse and masterful performance.

CD reissue. Norma Winstone is one of the most recognizable vocalists from the United Kingdom. During her nearly 50-year career, she has performed in many varieties of situations, from the improvisatory world of avant-garde to the classic tastefulness of the jazz songbook. There are some musical relationships that are just sublime. Winstone has had innumerable musical partnerships over her nearly 50-year career but none have lasted as long or have been as fruitful as the one with pianist John Taylor. The duo's recording Like Song, Like Weather from 1996 found them reunited performing standards and recreations of tunes by their contemporaries, including Steve Swallow, Paul Bley and Kenny Wheeler, with lyrics written by Winstone herself.

The work of vocalist Carmen McRae was the original inspiration behind John Hebert's most recent quartet. The Bassist and composer has long appreciated McRae's unique voice and style. But as with so many things, as time passed, the project evolved, from a simple repertory ensemble into a showcase for Hebert's compositions and the creative interplay among four outstanding musicians. The results of the ensemble's work can be heard on this new recording.
