2014 album of previously unreleased performances capturing the always-extraordinary saxophonist and flutist Charles Lloyd in 1965, leading a remarkable and previously unreleased quartet featuring three jazz giants: guitarist G�bor Szab�, bassist Ron Carter and drummer Pete La Roca. They were recorded at the now-defunct venues Judson Hall and Slugs', the Judson Hall recording comes from the archives of Resonance founder George Klabin, then a 19-year-old student at Columbia University recorded the Judson Hall show with up-close microphone placement techniques and state-of-the-art engineering - well ahead of 1965 standards. The Slugs' performances were recorded by Bjorn von Schlebrugge, who accompanied Lloyd to his Manhattan gigs. Slugs' has been called "one of the most important jazz shrines there ever was"

Two CD set. In the Beginning features recordings of Wes Montgomery spanning from 1949 to 1958, the formative years when the six-string virtuoso was honing his craft in southern Indiana. Since Wes Montgomery's passing in 1968, only two other albums of predominantly unreleased material have been released. Resonance Records is pleased to introduce the third with In the Beginning. These newly discovered live and studio recordings from 1949-1958, include a complete never-before-released 1955 Epic Records session produced by Quincy Jones, licensed from Sony Music Entertainment, newly discovered 78 RPM sides with Wes as a sideman recorded for Spire Records (1949), a live recording from the home of Ervena Montgomery, Indianapolis (1956), live recordings from the Turf Club (1956), the Missile Lounge (1958) in Indianapolis, and the C&C Music Lounge in Chicago (1957).

Two CDs. Love You Madly: Live at Bubba's is a previously-unissued recording of the Jamaican jazz piano icon Monty Alexander captured live in Fort Lauderdale, FL at Bubba's Jazz Restaurant on August 6, 1982. Recorded by legendary engineer Mack Emerman, Live at Bubba's features bassist Paul Berner, drummer Duffy Jackson and the acclaimed percussionist Robert Thomas, Jr. The deluxe limited-edition 2CD set includes an extensive booklet with photos, essays and interviews.

Two CDs. Live at Ronnie Scott's is the third official Resonance release of previously-unissued recordings of the Bill Evans trio with Eddie Gomez and Jack DeJohnette. The nearly 2 hours of music has been remastered from the original tape reels. Live at Ronnie Scott's was captured in July of 1968. On the cover of this deluxe 2CD set is a never-before-published drawing by artist and illustrator David Stone Martin. Package includes an extensive booklet with rare photos, essays and interviews.

ONCE UPON A TIME: THE LOST 1965 NEW YORK STUDIO

Where the Sunshine Is Expensive is the 2019 album from acclaimed powerhouse trombonist/vocalist Aubrey Logan. Coined "The Queen of Sass" in the press, Logan was a featured guest on Dave Koz's #1 selling contemporary jazz album, Summer Horns II: From A to Z, and her debut solo album Impossible (2017) charted in the Top 10 on the iTunes and Billboard jazz charts. Where the Sunshine Is Expensive was recorded live at the legendary EastWest Studios in Los Angeles in front of an intimate audience and captures an exciting blend of pop, jazz and R&B tunes that tell a story about Hollywood from Logan's unique perspective. Dave Koz says, "Aubrey is that rare artist who comes along once in a very long while. She truly makes you stop in your tracks. With such a communicative voice and style and a great sense of musical adventurousness, combined with unmatched technique, there's really no emotion she can't tackle musically. Jewels in the Treasure Box: The 1953 Chicago Blue Note Jazz Club Recordings is a previously unissued collection of recordings from jazz icon and virtuosic pianist, Art Tatum, captured live at the Blue Note jazz club in Chicago in March of 1953 with guitarist Everett Barksdale and bassist Slam Stewart. These recordings were transferred from the original tape reels and mastered for LP and CD by engineer Matthew Lutthans (who also worked on Resonance's Grammy-nominated 2019 Nat King Cole release Hittin' the Ramp). Containing a whopping nearly 3 hours of never-before-heard Art Tatum captured in an intimate setting at the height of his powers with his longtime trio.

Les McCann - "Never A Dull Moment! Live From Coast To Coast (1966-67)" / Never A Dull Moment! Live from Coast to Coast (1966-1967) is a previously unreleased collection of live recordings from unsung piano and vocal icon Les McCann. Featuring performances at Seattle's Penthouse jazz club in 1966 with Stan Gilbert, Paul Humphrey and Tony Bazley, plus recordings by Resonance founder and co-president George Klabin from the Village Vanguard in 1967 with Leroy Vinnegar and Frank Severino. This is an official release (in cooperation with Les McCann) transferred from the original tapes and mastered for by the legendary Bernie Grundman. Deluxe 3 CD set includes an extensive booklet with rare photographs and liner notes, plus quotes and statements from Roberta Flack, Monty Alexander, Roger Kellaway, Emmet Cohen and others.

This is the first release of Emily Remler music in 33 years!
