On his new double vinyl album, Jakob Buchanan masterfully blends the ultra-local folk music and the unique character of the landscape, with some of the world's leading names in modern jazz, and one of Denmark's many great string quartets Artos Quartet A few years ago, jazz composer and trumpeter Jakob Buchanan moved to Mols. Here, he sits and plays in an old circus wagon on Thorup Mark, gazing over the rolling hills and becoming absorbed in an old booklet of folk tunes by the local legend, fiddler Peter Madsen (1865-1900). One autumn day, he tries out the old dance tunes on his trumpet while looking out across the landscape. The tunes turn into hymns, and it feels as if an old soul is reborn floating across the warm, hilly land, a landscape that writes it's own silent music on the horizon every day. Anders Jormin is a Swedish jazz/improv double bass player with a world reputation. For this production, Anders has composed a number of pieces for choir and double bass. The choir on this recording is the professional ensemble Camerata Silesia from Katowice, Poland, conducted by Anna Szostak. Anders Jormin was born in 1957 in Jonkoping, Sweden. After intense studies, he left Musikhogskolan in Goteborg with diplomas in double bass and improvisation/ pedagogy in 1979. Today as a double-bass player and composer, AJ is a frequent and highly respected performer on the international concert scene. As a musician in great demand, AJ has recorded and toured with many of the legends in jazz. For many years, AJ was also a front figure in one of Scandinavia's foremost ensembles, "Entra." AJ today performs regularly all over Europe, North America, and Japan, and has for shorter periods performed and studied ethnic music in Cuba and Mozambique.

Eva Kruse�s preceding albums In Water and On the Mo have both received loads of praise and recognition. In 2015 and 2017 she was honored with Jazz-Echo awards (the German equivalent of a Grammy) for best national bass player. M.
