With the release of his latest studio album 50, Herb Alpert hits a tremendous milestone in a storied music career that began over 60 years ago in 1962: 50 is the Tijuana Brass maestro's 50th studio album! The 89-year-old Alpert has seen his share of high watermarks. By the numbers, he's sold over 72 million albums worldwide, earned 29 gold and platinum records, and has been awarded 8 Grammys. 50 is another impressive number to add to an already impressive list of stats. And importantly, 50 also commemorates 50 years of marriage to singer Lani Hall, their golden anniversary! Teeming with the good vibes that characterize the trumpeter's decades-long catalog, 50 is a continuation of the path Alpert has been blazing in the past decade. There is a mix of reimagined classics covered in Alpert's instantly recognizable style, highlighted by The Chords' doo-wop classic "Sh- Boom", Elvis' "Are You Lonesome Tonight", "Baubles Bangles And Beads" (famously recorded by Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Wes Montgomery, among others), and more. Plus, there are touching, new original compositions like "Dancing Down 50th Street". On 50, Herb strikes the delicate balance of honoring the past while keeping his eye set on the future. It's no wonder he's still going strong after all this time!

Make yourself at home with the Carmichael family as they experience one very special summer in their Brooklyn neighborhood that they've affectionately nicknamed Crooklyn. Complemented by an energizing, vintage R&B soundtrack, this tender and colorful film was beautifully shot by Arthur Jafa (Daughters of the Dust). On his 2019 album, Over The Rainbow, Herb Alpert began the same way he has done for all of his albums over the years: searching for great melodies. That search has resulted in the prolific trumpeter's latest offering, a collection of 11 classics and one brand new, original track. That original song, "Skinny Dip", opens the album with a quirky, fun vibe before things move on to recognizable tunes from the great American songbook, which are included for various reasons close to Herb's heart. He felt the danger in the tightrope walk of recording his own version of the iconic "Over The Rainbow", which was cemented within pop culture by Judy Garland's performance and many other fantastic recordings. And whether it's a tribute to Gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt on "All Love", Bill Withers on "Ain't No Sunshine", or the great Louis Armstrong on "What A Wonderful World", there is always a deeper connection and meaning for Herb on every cover selected for this album, making it one of the most personal projects he has ever worked on.

Vinyl LP pressing. For Music Volume 3: Herb Alpert Reimagines The Tijuana Brass, beloved and prolific musician Herb Alpert has revisited some of his most iconic songs with the Tijuana Brass, and transformed them. This reinvention of historic recordings like "A Taste Of Honey," "Lonely Bull," "Spanish Flea" and many more were "scrambled up," as Herb says. A mix of new arrangements, production, new studio takes and in some case even samples of the originals were used to make them fresh and surprising, and a way for Herb to continue sharing positivity with a world in need of it. The album also finds Herb continuing his partnership with producer Jochem van der Saag. Several of the songs on Music Volume 3 appeared on albums during an unprecedented run in 1966, when four Herb Alpert and Tijuana Brass releases were on the Billboard Top 10 at the same time. Music Volume 3 begins appropriately with "The Lonely Bull," Alpert's first smash hit. It includes a surprising mash-up, too - of "Spanish Flea" into "Rise," two famous songs blended together here for the first time.

The Beat of the Brass is the tenth album release by the popular 1960s instrumental group Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. The album was released on the heels of a television special by the same title (telecast April 22, 1968 over CBS). Tom Mankiewicz, who wrote the special, also provided two paragraphs of liner notes for the album. Explaining the concept behind the album, Mankiewicz writes, "The beat of America is more than a musical experience. It finds it's pulse and rhythms in the very life of the country: the crack of a bat against a baseball, the spinning wheels and pounding machinery of a modern factory, a swinging crowd in New Orleans at Mardi Gras, a saddle twisting desperately against his rider..." It includes Alpert's only major vocal hit, "This Guy's In Love With You", which became an overnight success due to it's inclusion during the special, in a sequence featuring Herb and his (first) wife, Sharon.

Magic Man - With Michael Stokes, then A&M's director of Black Product/A&R, co-producing, Alpert came up with a pleasant collection of R&B/pop-slanted tunes, plus a rendition of "Besame Mucho" and a cha-cha/disco remake of his own "You Smile, The Song Begins."
