Digitally remastered reissue of Bill Bruford's Earthworks' 2004 album. Produced by and personally overseen by Bill Bruford. Revisiting some of Bruford's compositions from the late 70s, most notably the beautiful ballad 'Seems Like A Lifetime Ago' and the bonus track 'Beelzebub' - coincidentally the first piece that Bill ever wrote and recorded as the first track on his first album in 1977. Following the departure of saxophonist Patrick Clahar, Bill Bruford's Earthworks reformed for a 2003 US tour with saxophonist/composer Tim Garland, fresh from playing with Chick Corea.

Digitally remastered edition. The fifth album from Bill Bruford's Earthworks, originally released in 1999. Featuring pianist Steve Hamilton who trained in the US, and played with Bobby Hutcherson, Freddie Hubbard and Gary Burton among others; with Patrick Clahar, the fast-rising London tenorist best known for his work with Incognito, and Mark Hodgson on bass. Following his mid-'90s sojourn with King Crimson, drummer Bill Bruford returned to the scene with his fully-acoustic Earthworks Mark II, which hit the ground running in 1999 with A Part And Yet Apart. Having effectively jettisoned electronic percussion Earthworks revisited the acoustic sax-piano-bass-drums line up with it's muscular, visceral acoustic fusion. This album has been out of print for some time and this re-release is on Bruford's own Summerfold Records and was overseen personally by Bill Bruford.

Reissue of long out-of-print album by drummer Bill Bruford's Earthworks • Arguably Earthworks Mark I's most fullyrealised studio release, even as it moves towards a more abstract aesthetic. • Includes live performances of the African-influenced 'Libreville' and the more atmospheric 'Pilgrim's Way', both originally released on 'Dig?', demonstrating how Earthworks was able to rework and open up the material in performance.

Digitally remastered and expanded edition includes two bonus tracks. With Earthworks second album, Dig?, Bill Bruford began to be accepted, on a broader level, as a jazz drummer, even though his roots in the style go right back to his formative years. Bruford had found players who were clearly familiar with the jazz tradition, even as they pursued ways to break it down and reconstruct it in new and unusual ways. Earthworks' second and best release features young Turks Ballamy and Bates and a new bassist, Tim Harries, who replaces Mick Hutton. Tunes are by everybody and Tony Hatch (the latter a mutant arrangement of Downtown by Bates which will not be entering the top 40). This edition has two bonus tracks in addition - Emotional Shirt and Pigalle - culled from the band's live appearances. This album has been out of print for some time. This re-release is on Bruford's own Summerfold Records and was overseen personally by him.
