150 SWIRL

Drummer and composer Lily Finnegan's consistently enthralling band Heat on is a marvelous, multi-generational, inside-out quartet and after wowing people with their 2025 debut, they return with this second offering. * The group features Chicago tenor saxophonist Ed Wilkerson Jr.[an AACM legend], fellow Chicagoan alto sax great Fred Jackson Jr., and Nick Macri on upright and electric bass work. * "Heat on is her "love letter to Chicago," where her intergenerational quartet makes notable noise. In addition to being a creative drummer, Finnegan is a strong composer, and her work is always interesting." - DownBeat, October 2025"
