NTSC Region 0. This release presents an impressive concert by a true all star combo. Recorded in London in 1964, the event brings together a group of veteran musicians with distinguished careers behind them. Featuring Coleman Hawkins, Harry Edison, Jo Jones, Sir Charles Thompson, Jimmy Woode and George Arvanitas. As a bonus to this amazing performance a complete short film made in Brussels by Coleman Hawkins backed by Jimmy Woode on bass, French pianist George Arvanitas, as well as American drummer Kansas Fields. The most unusual tune is Hawkins unaccompanied opening improvisation as he was the first musician to commercially record an unaccompanied tenor saxophone solo. Featured performances include 'September Song', 'What's New', 'WIllow Weep for Me' and more. Impro-Jazz. 2006.
