The most distinctive characteristic of Scandinavian Romantic music is its explicit tie with the Nordic folk music, which gave the music of this period full of charm and accessibility. Gems of Romantic repertoire are highlighted here by this unusual duo of violin and organ. Since 1988 German violinist Jochen Brusch and Danish organist Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen have given numerous concerts together throughout Europe successfully achieving their goal of “ reaching out to a wider audience without compromising music’s quality”.
