Viguela is a five-member band from Castilla-La Mancha, who has been sustaining their homeland’s traditional music for over three decades. Their music fuses traditional songs with more modern aspects and sounds from other areas in the Iberian Peninsula and Northern Africa. Temperamento is being released alongside their 2016 European tour, which will take the group through Spain, Sweden, and Germany. “Viguela’s CD is a treasure. The tracks that make up this release are songs that were made famous by the Queen of Fado herself, Amalia Rodrigues. Up and coming fado starlet Matilde Larguinho sings these traditional songs, accompanied by Antonio Carvalho on the Portuguese lute and Alfredo Pena on the guitar. Included in the booklet are the original Portuguese lyrics, as well as descriptions of the songs in English and biographies of the musicians.

This new release features an Andalusian flair, with exciting tracks of traditional Flamenco and Flamenco Nuevo.; These thrilling tunes feature quick rhythms, exciting guitars, zapateados (“feet”), palmas (clapping), and jaleos (cheers).; Telling stories about love, folk customs, and festivals, these songs will transport the listener into the romantic world of Flamenco.

Viguela have been dedicated to traditional music from the center of the Iberian Peninsula for thirty years. In 2014 Viguela began reviewing their own approach to the interpretation of traditional music, taking a step further in recovering their archaic musical language- focusing on the person's interpretation and musicality rather than techniques taught at academies. They perform not only at renowned festivals such as WOMAD in 2017 but also on the streets of Spain.
